What's New in Supernova

1.2.6

August 18, 2026

1.2.6 — THE LAST OF THE UNTRANSLATED SCREENS Constellation effect lines, sky unlock requirements, all nine research effect descriptions, constellation lore and its dedications, and the research badges were built in a way that never looked up a translation — so they rendered in English even where the rest of the app did not. Caught by opening the app in Japanese and reading it, and fixed. FROM 1.2.5 (A FIRST ON MAC) • The supernova bar now follows your real production, so a run no longer ends in seconds • New: Forge Works, twelve permanent upgrades paid for in Neutron Cores • Spent cores keep counting toward the production multiplier

Fun but too short

Was a fun game until I reached the top of the leaderboard in less than 4 hours, would continue playing if there was more to do

Response from developer

blakeidle, we love your hearts 🥰 they went straight to ours ❤️ Also: sorry for calling you "Titleist" last time. That was the title of your review, not you. Fixed! More seriously, we work on this game with everything we have, and a message like yours genuinely makes us smile in real life. The next update rebalances the whole supernova loop and adds Forge Works, somewhere to finally spend those Neutron Cores. Thank you for forging with us 🫶 Supernova, with love and a geeky heart ❤️⭐️

Pretty fun game

Been enjoying it all day so far but boy does it make my phone hot.

Response from developer

Dear @JTGibbs, We are really happy you are enjoying Supernova! 🫶 Your phone loved it a little too much and tried to become a star itself 😂 You are absolutely right though, that is definitely not the goal! So we went looking, and you found something real. The forge was drawing the star at your screen's full refresh rate, up to 120 frames every second, for hours on end. It is now capped far below that, it steps down further when your iPhone tells us it is getting warm or is in Low Power Mode, and the scene stops animating entirely while you are on another tab. Same star, a lot less heat. 🧊 Our goal is to give you the maximum number of stars ⭐️ while making the experience as fun as possible, and that update should reach you within a week or two. One more thing. The hottest sky in the game is getting a name, and it is going to be yours. 🔥 Thanks again for the feedback and for playing! 🚀 The geeky and lovely team of Supernova 🌟

Takes all of 30 minutes to complete, don’t bother

Yeah basically you can beat this game in 30 minutes. Also leaderboard is broken, and ALSO integer overflow breaks this game, you are already at stupid infinitely large numbers within minutes and the game can’t handle it.

Response from developer

Okay @mileslacey07, "don't bother" stung a little 😅 Then we went and measured it, and you were correct on all three counts, so mostly we just sat here quietly for a while. You said thirty minutes. We simulated an entire career against the engine, and by the fortieth detonation a run was lasting three seconds. You said "stupid infinitely large numbers": the cores a supernova paid out were scaling with the cores you already had, so the bank doubled every single time until it snapped 64-bit arithmetic and took the whole app down with it 💥 You said the leaderboard was broken: anything past a billion falls outside the range the board is configured for, so Game Center was quietly binning your score and never saying a word. Three sentences, three real bugs, zero false positives. Our QA process is now essentially "what would @mileslacey07 say" 🔍 So here is what happened to the game 🪜 The generator ladder no longer ends. Past the Singularity Seed it keeps going: Tachyon Braid, Vacuum Bloom, Axion Halo, Monopole Reef, Chronon Cascade, and on down into the dark as far as you can climb. The supernova threshold now rises with your power instead of standing still, so a run has to reach deeper than the last one rather than simply getting cheaper. Payouts are capped, scores are clamped into range, and any save the old maths inflated is repaired the moment it loads 🛠️ And then there is this ✨ The constellation at the very end of that endless ladder, charted at 100 supernovae, is called The Ouroboros, the serpent eating its own tail 🐍, which felt uncomfortably apt for a game that used to eat itself. It now carries your name, permanently, in the sky. @mileslacey07 is up there for good, and it arrives in the update right after this one 🌌 It takes rather more than thirty minutes these days ⏳ If you ever wander back and it holds up, that lonely first star does have four friends it has never met ⭐⭐⭐⭐ but honestly, no pressure @mileslacey07: you got the fix either way, and we got a much better game out of it 💜 The geeky and lovely team of Supernova 🌟
