GOOGLE the Businesses
Better to find the businesses for work through Thumbtack and then Google the businesses for their contacts, rather than selecting them through Thumbtack website. The company
STEALS a lot of small businesses hard earned money! Thumbtack automatically charges each businesses you select through their platform. If you select 4 businesses for example, for a task you need done, each businesses get charges roughly $20-$50 plus, instantly regardless if they get the job or not. Such a shady business model and straight up THIEVES! Obviously taking advantage of small businesses.
For the APP developers who respond to this, don't waste your time trying to justify the shady act because you know damn well you guys are stealing money!
Hope this company gets sue soon!

Great Referral Service!
Once we placed our request, my phone started ringing with different vendors, we chose the first one that called and they turn out to be awesome. But all the vendors that called had really excellent reviews so I’m certain that Thumbtack is doing some search before they allow vendors in their system. Kudos to thumbtack!!

Ghosted by contractors
i’ve noticed that if you have a low value job, the contractor suggested to you when you contact them they literally don’t respond back after your first request and describing what you wanted done. I’ve only been able to accomplish one project out of about 10 using Thumbtack and the job they accepted was over $2000. On the smaller projects less than $500 they either quoted an astronomical price or just don’t respond back to your messages.
