This new app update is not user-friendly. Trying to get into certifications is definitely not easy. The instructions should probably be more detail.
Better
I was already using it on a daily basis. Now the updated app is more useful and even more of a pleasure to use.
An idea who’s time has come
The idea that a simple device can detect a faulty wire, connection, or receptacle is reason enough to use a Ting monitor. While I have not yet found any problems with my electrical system,I am convinced that the device is capable of detection and notification. The ideal scenario is that a problem never occurs however I feel that it’s a great way to stay on top of problems.

Address mid population and wrong indicator
Ting app is showing my address in the wrong location and is showing that power has been restored when its being powerd bu generator
Information Missed
If it wasn’t for my Ting, I wouldn’t have know that the power flickered (Brownouts)or was lost (Outages). It was surprising how many brownouts my area experienced in a month, causing two appliances to fail from electrical overload. I had proof for insurance and CenterPoint Energy to investigate and repair a failing transformer.

Is a super home safety app
Was 5 now 3
New app is a big miss. Old app presented information in a much better and nicer format that you could see the status of things a glance. New app is just plain amateurish. Come on Ting, you can do better.
Not impressed
Ting abruptly cancelled my service without any notice or renewal effort, advising me to “recycle locally”. At this point will probably be dropping it in the trash.

1 yr subscription works after that won’t connect
Worked good for the 1 year subscription then it won’t connect and now is a totally useless device, how can it be legal for you to put people in jeopardy just because their subscription ran out. as a retired fire commissioner this act is liable to national fire code violations.

Absolutely essential. Important information at your fingertips. Safety is critical and Ting provides confidence that either all is well or something needs attention. Weather and outage info is helpful and welcome.
Best Safety Feature
I love my Ting device. I was given the device by State Farm and it is a wonderful help in managing power issues. I would like to be able to share with my family member who lives at my residence. I look forward to the updates.

Hate the new 3.0.4 layout
Seems to be changed for the sake of change. Uneditable dashboard instead of just a quick glance at the system status now you get to scroll through all the widgets. Give options. Please.
A nice app got even better
I’ll start with an admission. I’m an EE and amateur radio operator who loves technical gadgets, particularly when they are practical. A boss (a PhD from MIT) once called me a techie nerd.
I got a Ting sensor a few years ago when State Farm offered it as a policy holder. The previous app had lots of nice features to alert wiring issues, local outages, line voltage, historical data, etc. The 3.0.4 update takes it to the next level. I like being able to see variations in line voltage, frequency, and other measures but the choice of a 30 second, 1 minute, 5 minute and 15 minute graph is extremely useful. The old app showed me previous days’ historical voltage trends where I saw periodic short term 2 volt drops that I couldn’t identify. Now a real/time graph shows me exactly when it’s happening and the duration so I can hunt it down.
I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

Quickly fixed a glitch with new update and sensor. App has been a great help in the past week.
