But here’s a problem

Our street has a box hit in a lightning storm. It puts out lights in the street, fries our neighbor’s expensive HIfi equipment and fries our Verizon box, router and alarm box. We’re away. Ting can tell me when we lost WiFi but clearly lost track of a power surge that could have been quite dangerous.

Cool feature

Nice having brownout alerts, I have sound equipment that do not like being starved as well as the regular fridge ac unit ect, I can unplug or flip a couple breakers before any damage occurs, in the past noticing and light not burning so bright was your only clue, and in the early hours while sleeping no clues at all, it is very appreciated is all

Exceptional performance

Routinely accurate when local and dispersed electrical incidents occur and my own observations provide clarity to me when backed up by Ting every time at my current and previous addresses!

Saved Our Family

The Ting isn’t just an app and device. It is life saving! The Ting caught an electrical fire in our fuse box before it was a full blown fire. It caught all of our fuses had melted and we had MAJOR problems! It was truly life saving!

9.4.26

Had this device before through my insurance company. It is a life changer. Changed insurance companies and had to get one for myself, my home.

Power drop on other phase from power company

Power at receptacle where ting plugged in was normal but other phase receptacle voltage fluctuated between 60vac to 101vac failed to detect a problem. This was a power company line problem that had bad T tap underground

Feedback

Previous version was more user friendly and had previous history easier to use. Saw it once on this version and cannot find where I saw it.

Please bring back the functionality of the old app

Instead of fixing issues with the old app, the updated one has removed some of the useful features and created some new issues.

The menu icon on the upper left is nonfunctional. The metrics now focus on just the most recent 15 mins of data, which is not very useful, and fails to show potentially important data from earlier in the day. Today’s overview shows that our voltage dipped to 61 at some point today, but there’s no way to see when that was so that I can see if it correlates with any events that occurred at the same time.

Ongoing issues that still need to be addressed include the problem of outage reports alerting me to the nearest outage, which is often 150+ miles away, or a nearby one that was actually resolved a few days ago. Maybe allowing us to set a time frame or distance range would help.

Can’t even install

Wants location to install. Not on location approval list because it’s not installed.

Super helpful app

I have one at my home and one at my vacation home. The vacation home is located in a very remote area. It’s very helpful to know if the power goes out-especially if I’m not at the vacation home because I can notify the power company of the outage right away.

Homeowner satisfied

Great technology and service!

I love my TING DEVICE

I will tell U this TING monitor is the best device ever l can’t believe how it shows all the potential problems where the lights are out all over the city, how much power is going through yr home, & how often these dang lights go out is unbelievable .

Retired Fire Marshal- “TING is critical to your homes fire safety.”

Having spent 36 years in the fire service and retiring as a Fire Marshal, I have seen countless fires that would likely have been caught by TING and prevented before they ever started. I will never be without one in my home.

Safety comfort

Ting gives me peace of mind knowing that my home electrical circlets are safe and monitored.

Great product

Highly recommended

Where’s History

I miss the historical data on voltage that the old app had. I don’t check the app every day so it was extremely useful to see voltage spikes and drops from the previous days.

Argh

Aug 2026 app update ‘activity’ graph ends at 9 am. The hamburger doesn’t work. Could be more bugs I haven’t run in to. Not as friendly as the older app.

New version loss of functionality and poor UX design choices

With the new version the easy to read meter and common information across multiple sensors takes up a majority of the screen space vs being moved to its own area. Also the calendar & history is either gone or really difficult to find

Peace of mind

Instant alerts when something occurs. Thankfully No hazards for us yet.

New displays aren’t great

I liked the format and displays much better before. Now everything is hard to understand.
