Love our Ting!
History retention is too short
Wanted to review outages and brownouts to determine if a generator or battery backup is necessary. History is kept only for 3 months. Need to have a full year or more for decisions.
Great Product But…
I love the security that this device provides but I don’t like having to pay $50 for an annual fee times 3 for my three devices. Should be able to get a discount when you have multiple devices

I love this device it keeps me abreast with what’s happening in my home as well as my neighborhood . When there’s a brownout in my community I’m aware. Thank you for this device

I got a notice my homeowners insurance was being canceled because of two claims from storms three years ago within a month after plugging this device in! What did it show them? Works very well though!
Excellent device
The Ting is such a helpful device. I feel much safer having it monitor my power. Also advising me on when the power fails and when it’s restored

It does a great job letting you know when things are not right at the home place. Power outages, internet down etc.

This system seems to work well but wants you to subscribe to a fairly expensive notification system. I would think twice before buying the device.

Great Protection
We recently had an alert about our electric service. Apparently one of our breakers was arcing. Ting notified us and spent whatever time was required to identify the problem and send an electrician out to address the problem. Timely response and quick resolution saved us for a potential costly problem as well as a potential dangerous situation.

Outdated and flawed app software, hardware is good.
I have had the unlit for about 5 years. The hardware does a solid job of real time status of power, the flaw is any interruption of Wi-Fi will lead to useless alerts, and sometimes say a Wi-Fi issue when it was power out. An *Ethernet* version would minimize erroneous alerts. The Software is the major failures. 1: No landscape on iPad (maybe smartphone too) 2: No ability to set if house has Generator, Solar, and/or Batteries, or even an EV charger (it guesses if it has a generator). 3: No ability to inform of planned power out in house, it reports as a fault. 4: No ability to inform of loss of Wi-Fi (or Ethernet), so it also reports as a fault. 5: No ability to inform of planned utility outage. False alerts results in harder to catch actual issues.

The Best
Ting is crazy good. It notifies me before Georgia Power does during an outage. Customer service is exceptional and they have real people that talk back to you too! Now isn’t that crazy??
Power observation
It’s a wonderful device which helps understand the electrical issues in my area. It just goes to show how unstable the Duke power grid in our area.
Safety
We like being able to see the functionality of our electrical system all throughout our home, and how the wiring runs throughout the house. I’ve always had an enormous fear of my home catching on fire and having Ting helps me feel more secure in the knowledge of what’s going on inside of my home. I believe Ting is a service that should be offered with every insurance company because of the increased assurance of safety that it brings to a home.

It’s great
We travel a lot. It’s nice to know the property is being monitored. Recently we were on a trip and the power went out for almost 2 days. Once the power was restored we contacted a neighbor to empty our fridge/freezer for garbage pick up before we got back home.
Prior to our return we did an online grocery pickup order and got it on our way home from the airport.

Helpful alerts
Ting has given us much needed alerts concerning brown outs and loss of power especially when we are away from the house. This allows us to make adjustments to heating or cooling. It's a very helpful app and device.
