Toast is TRASH with ZERO app controls 🚨. SPAMS for reviews; NO OPTIONS! Downhill it goes… 🤮
Every time you open the Toast app you have to dismiss a pathetic prompt to review your last order. All for some myopic dolt at the company to force a self-sabotaging metric that destroys the brand longer than their tenure. Did private equity already buy this thing, or is the company just dumb?
Toast SPAMS push notifications 🚨 that I did not opt in to, and there is NO WAY TO OPT OUT 🚨🚨, so notifications are now disabled through the OS (again: ZERO controls within the app).
I want:
“Your order is ready.”
NOT EVER, NOT EVEN ONCE:
“How was [restaurant]?” or “Treat your to [restaurant] in the Toast app.” YET Toast spams EVERY time I make a purchase, and now just to spam. 🚨🚨🚨
Don’t give this app any permissions at all until it provides the bare minimum of end-user control.

It’s just been updated it such a way that I can’t download the update or use the old version since I can’t get the new one.
At a glance — only
Would be great if there were a way to combine multiple rewards accounts that are for one location. Also would be beneficial to see the email address tied to each rewards account. Having to reach out to restaurant owners to do this, and not having the information they need leaves something desirable.

Always switching back to pickup has caught me many times waiting for an order. The only rational reason I can think to always switch back to pick up mode vs delivery mode is to show cheaper prices? Idk.

The app does not work correctly
The app does not allow you to put the correct number of digits for a credit card. It is three short. The app expects you to hold the position to scan the card for unlimited amount of time with you soon it either just never scans it or it tells you that it's can't do it. This app is absolutely useless and I will avoid companies which use it.

Removed a previously listed restaurant and then ordered from somewhere else, wtf!!! Now I have to drive 20 min to get the other one.

Places you normally order from should be listed first rather than suggestions. Especially for active users.
Third times the charm
I had to order 3 times in order to finially get my order to go through on this app. Waste of my time.
Not VPN friendly
I used it a few times without trouble in the beginning. I signed up for the rewards and this app ate $5 worth. I placed the order and was excited to use the savings but it routed to another location. I had to reorder and while got credit bs k on the other I had no points to use. Best I think NOT to have this app. More problems than it’s worth

I love the ability to find local restaurants nearby and you can collect rewards points and use promotions with them.
Pretty Scammy
Placed an order for a restaurant whose hours were listed for 11pm. The order was “accepted” credit card charged and when I get there, the restaurant is closed. Like completely dark, not a soul around. Their only solution was contact the restaurant. The closed restaurant. Make that make sense.
Wrong address. No resolution
The app sent the order to the incorrect address and there is no recourse. I am unable to contact anyone in toast and am now out of a $100 order
It it says the place is open before you click in, it’s lying.
As it stands, “Show Closed” has been a useless option for half a decade.

Incredibly unstable
Don’t know how this app has so many stars when it crashes on me constantly, logs me out, and almost every other day tells me ordering is unavailable - forcing me to have close the app and reopen.
Often broken and constantly changing
E: screw it. I’m going to decrease this by one point for every four months that Toast fails to only show open restaurants when “Show Closed” is unselected. That’s an absolutely worthless “feature” when closed restaurants show with it unselected.
We’re on at least the third or fourth wholly different app within a few years now. They’ve dropped and readded support for an important restaurant-finding tool (the *map*) at least once, and it constantly shows stores that are closed when I don’t have the “show closed” option ticked.
Why even have that option then?
