Great App

This app gets it “just right”

.Not sure I can explain why, but this app is the one that has sat on my desktop (and iPhone) and helped me get stuff done. Some apps don’t really help me get stuff done, they do take in the ‘to do’ but I plainly do something that tells the app not to remind me again.

Oddly, despite reminding me regularly, I don’t feel ‘nagged’ by the app and I don’t get fed up with its reminders.

I am very conscious this may not make sense. I only say this: it is the first To Do list that I have stuck with that has help me get my stuff done.

Great job for a great app. Thank you.

Life changing

The philosophy of this app is exactly what I’ve been missing from the stock reminders app. Reminders don’t get lost anymore because Unforgetful reminds me about them, whether they have a due date or not, whether you’ve cleared the notification or not, whether they’re overdue or not.

Previously in this review, I listed a number of pesky bugs that were getting in my way, but the developer has fixed those in only a couple weeks. I will keep subscribing after my free trial because I definitely get $20 of value out of this app over the course of a year, especially if the developer keeps up this pace of features and fixes. Great app!

Nice idea l!

Updated

Really like the underlying idea a lot, especially the integration with reminders…most of the issues I mentioned on my previous review are now addressed and the pace of improvement is great. Also I cannot argue with the fact that it’s made me get a few things done! Will definitely subscribe now. Thank you!

The only remaining small quibble I have is I would love some way to express a priority notification especially one with a fixed deadline and lead time (but maybe I just need to use a different thing for that, maybe calendar)

Slopcode with Paywall

Baiting people with ADHD into a "free trial" that they will certainly forget to cancel is just cynical.

Everything I want out if reminders

Finally, a reminders app that doesn’t want me to adopt some system for my whole life.

If I want to remember something I shout it into the air to my HomePod and this app makes sure I remember.

I also love that nothing is overdue.

Very Thoughtful and Efficient Task App

This app is highly focused to solve a very particular use case for Reminders. When I first tried it, I didn’t think I had a use for it, but it gives you a one month free trial, so I kept using it.

What I’ve found is that it has two features that have become indispensable for me now:

1) It will automatically remind you of a task until you complete it. Even if you forget to snooze the reminder or never set a date and time to be reminded for a task. It’s got you covered and will remind you anyway. Perfect!

2) It shows all of your Reminders tasks in a single chronological list and its UI makes it super easy to triage and reschedule these tasks.

Those two features alone make it worth the price for me. And the fact that it has a Mac and iPad and Apple Watch app as well means that it can totally replace Reminders everywhere I need it to be.

The fit and finish for the app is top notch also. Easily 5 Stars.

Claims to never lose a task but does

I regularly don‘t get reminders for tasks. This is a dealbreaker. Good thing I didn’t disable Reminders notifications as requested by the app as at least Reminders would remind me once which is better than not at all.

Response from developer

Sorry for the trouble! Today's update fixed some conditions that could cause this. Please try again if you're willing!

I don’t get it

It feels like this app is just reminding you on top of the built in reminders app. So you end up with double notifications… sometimes? If I tell something to “Remind me tomorrow”, I will see the Reminders notification come up the next day, but not this one. Maybe I just don’t understand the intended interface here. Is it the Reminders notification or the Unforgetful one?

Response from developer

Thanks for trying the app! The intention is to turn off your Reminders notifications and have Unforgetful replace them.

Not a bad idea

Really did need to hear the podcast to get the concept. But that got me to give it a serious try, and dripping out reminders is a works-for-me approach.

I’d stopped using reminders entirely until now.

Not just for ADHD folks

I don’t have ADHD but I am forgetful and prone to clearing an alarm or a reminder before performing the task. This app is ideal for me as it ensures I will keep being reminded until I’ve actually done it. The nagging is not persistent but very “polite” and is of course configurable. And I’ve finally found a use for Siri - it is quite good at adding reminders, and a I now do this quite a lot. Fifth star for making it family shareable which worked seamlessly.

I assume it’s good

This app is, at its core, accessibility.
A specific form of Reminders just for people who need a very specific kind of reminding because that’s just how their brain works.

And it’s entirely behind a paywall. Accessibility, but only for people who can afford it, which isn’t me right now thanks to “market headwinds” removing my job out from under me.
Marco says “not your fault but it is your problem” and withholds this from me until I get lucky enough to have another offer letter in-hand.

A Frankenstein’s monster of a Mac app

This does not look, nor feel, like a Mac app. It feels more like an iOS app running in a Mac window, or a wrapper around a web app.

Works with my brain

Developer has been very thoughtful about what kind of simple but persistent task tracking someone like me needs. I am getting things done and not feeling as brutally overwhelmed as I used to. This is not a project management app!

This is about being persistently reminded to do the things that you said you would do until you do them.

Fantastic task reminders app

This app delivers a task reminder workflow that matches the way my mind operates!
Thank you Marco.

This replaces Due as my ADD task app

I left a similar review for the iPhone app. Overall, the desktop app is a worth companion to the iPhone one. No major issues to report and here are my overall thoughts on this excellent start to a new task app. And trust me, I have tried them all as lifelong ADD/neurodivergent brain type

I’m a longtime Due user because I value its simplicity and relentlessly nagging reminders. But Unforgetful takes that philosophy somewhere more thoughtful, and may become my new default.

Building on Apple Reminders was incredibly smart. I can throw something into Apple’s default app using Siri or the share sheet and have it appear automatically in Unforgetful. That alone feels transformative.

One important note for Due users: Turn off Due’s Reminders import feature, or it may automatically mark new Unforgetful tasks as completed.

A few feature requests that would make the app nearly perfect for my ADD brain:

• A focused Now or Today view that shows only overdue tasks and things requiring attention now, with the option to hide completed tasks entirely.

• A separate Future view for anything scheduled later. The late, great Swipes app did this beautifully. Something due three hours from now didn’t clutter what I needed to do right now, but it was still waiting in Future and resurfaced when relevant.

• A Someday option that doesn’t become a task graveyard. Someday could default to resurfacing in 30 days, with a setting that lets users define it as 7 days, 15 days, three months, etc.

• Google Calendar integration similar to Todoist, where scheduled tasks appear in a separate, color-coded calendar and can be rescheduled from either Google Calendar or Unforgetful.

The magic of this app is that it already seems to understand something most task apps don’t: ADD brains don’t need to see everything we’ve ever promised ourselves we’ll do. We need to see what matters now and trust that everything else will come back at the right time.

Huge thanks to Marco for creating this app, sharing his own ADD experience, and designing something that works with our brains instead of against them.

Excellent

You do have to turn off reminders on all your iOS devices. Would also like it if the “tap something to mark something complete” was closer to the top of pop-up screen rather than down the bottom.

allows me to actually finish th

I hadn’t noticed before how bad other task managers made me feel; all I’d do is pop in there every once in a while and tag something or shuffle things around in folders which really helped with sort of the illusion of actual achievements. I still use DUE for medications but this is such a breath of fresh air. I have fairly severe ADHD and, in the short time I’ve been using it, this app has changed my relationship with Things Not Done. They’re less hostile. Less naggy. Anyway that’s all to say that I feel more focussed and more likely to actually end up finishing somethi

The Reminder App I Didn’t Know I Needed

At first I wasn’t sure if this was the right thing for me. I was getting overwhelmed with all the reminders I had in my Apple Reminders app. Some from years ago I totally forgot about. I was annoyed that Unforgetful reminded me of them.

But then, I started doing those tasks. Just to clear the cue.

It turned out this app is what I needed to get some stuff done I have been putting off literally for years.

The way the system reminds me to do things is exactly what my brain needs. I hate to admit it but this thing is literally perfect.

Thanks for honestly changing my life. Using this app daily.

If you know who you are who needs something like this, give this app a try.

Marco made me update to iOS 26

I've used Due for many years and my only real problem with it is that I have to either add new reminders in the app or using shortcuts.

When I want to add a reminder I'm often out for a walk with only my watch or in the car, so I’m frequently (trying to) use shortcuts to do it. And since Apple doesn't fix bugs that have existed for like 10 years, creating Due reminders with shortcuts only works like 10% of the time. The other 90% of the time you get some random (and usually infuriating) outcome.

What sold me on Unforgetful is that I can create reminders using the standard reminders capabilities on the watch and in CarPlay, which Apple supports comparatively well.

I've moved some things over from Due and it's working well so far. My only ask is better backgrounding on the Mac so that I don't have to keep the app open all the time.
