sexual assault

i don’t know who the driver was but it was a fat indian in a car and he touched me and id like for him to be removed immediately i was 15 at the time

Fictional eta’s

Booked a ride home from the bar, was told they’d be there in six minutes. Five minutes later they’re still six minutes away. Said they were two minutes away for over 20 minutes but was still trying to find a driver. Booked a car on another app, they said a driver was on the way and gave a real eta. Deleted this app, will never use again.

Never available

I’ve tried a few times to book this never a car available .

Unreliable

24 prebooked, driver cancelled 5 min to time. Had to go with a real cab, this is not a reliable service.

Horrible experience

Was forced to use Uride in Belleville and Uber wasn’t available. We requested a ride an after 15 minutes of waiting they cancelled and we had to take a taxi. We tried again to get back to the hotel and waited 13 minutes, and then saw the driver pull up. We were paying our bills at the time and about a minute later, we watched the driver leave. Then I was charged for the ride. Possible redeeming quality about Uride was that their support was excellent and refunded the ride right away.

Somewhat reliable

stop raising the prices you’re just a cab company now stop trying to copy Uber

Get more accurate on your timing to pick up

Once you are in the car, it’s fine but when you click on a ride and the estimated 3 minutes turns into 20 minutes, you know they are just throwing a number out there. Two days in a row, it has been like that. The driver mentioned that some new software is being used.

Rides arrived too late

Waited about 20min for ride! It’s not even rush hour! Could do better than this! If I took bus would have been faster!

Always Good customer service and affordable fare

Always prompt customer service. The driver are all polite and helpful so far. Great app and great team!

Reliable, friendly, safe

Always use URide - my go to when I need a ride. Safe, reliable and friendly

No point in offering this service

The service in Thunder Bay is laughable. It takes 30 minutes to get paired to a driver just for them to cancel on you.

No stops

It’s not possible to add a stop on the route. Driver demanded cash to make a 30 second stop which was on the way.

Fast and Fair Resolution

Had an issue with a cancelled ride recently, but Uride’s customer support handled it quickly and professionally. They responded fast, understood the situation, and refunded the charges without any hassle. Really appreciated how smoothly everything was resolved.

Very kind and helpful customer service!

Uride is a very useful app for moving around quickly. I used it in PEI Canada. Their customer service was also very helpful when I lost an item. Would definitely recommend Uride!!!

Ridiculous

I was banned due to another passenger’s actions that I had no involvement in and actively helped resolve completely, with them actually admitting that, and saying they have no power to reverse it..

Drivers ignoring rides.

The app is great. When the drivers aren’t ignoring your ride. Isn’t the first time this has happened where I’ve been stranded at a bus station staring at 5 cars in my vicinity but not a single one picks up your ride. What’s up with that? Can there be some rules implemented here that they actually do their job??

Misleading ride availability during late hours

When it's peak hours it works great. But when it is late, forget it. Shows rides available, time away and prices, but never finds a driver. So it is not based on any kind of real time availability. Definitely needs improvement. I know you can't control driver availability, but don't misrepresent it to me.

Drivers a treated unfairly

The Uride Driver app needs serious improvement, especially from the driver’s side.

One of the biggest issues is the pickup and address system. Passengers can enter incomplete or incorrect addresses, or the app/map can send the driver to the wrong pin. When that happens, the driver follows the app exactly, but the passenger gets frustrated and can leave a negative rating as if it was the driver’s fault. That is extremely unfair. Drivers should not be punished for problems caused by the app, the map, the GPS pin, or passengers entering bad pickup information.

The rating system also needs to be reviewed. Passengers can rate drivers poorly simply because they are annoyed about address issues, directions, app problems, or pickup confusion. Even when the driver did nothing wrong, the negative rating falls back on us. There should be a better dispute or protection system for drivers when the problem is clearly outside of our control.

Another major issue is pay. Drivers already make very little after expenses, and gas prices keep going up. On top of that, Uride recently lowered the fuel surcharge from $1.00 to $0.50, even though the price of gas continues to increase per litre. Drivers are using their own vehicles, paying for their own gas, insurance, maintenance, repairs, tires, brakes, oil changes, and depreciation. There is no proper maintenance compensation, even though the wear and tear on our vehicles is constant.

Airport trips are another example of how the system does not fairly compensate drivers. We only get paid to take the passenger from the city to the airport, but the airport is far out on the edge of the city where there usually are not many return rides. Because the app is location-based, drivers often have to drive all the way back into the city to get more trips, and that return drive is unpaid. By the time you factor in the gas and time spent driving back, airport trips can actually cause drivers to lose money.

The same problem happens with trips to outside towns. We may get paid to take someone there, but there are usually no rides available in those areas, so we have to drive all the way back to the city unpaid. That means a big part of what we just earned gets spent on fuel just to return to an area where we can actually receive more requests.

Overall, the app and pay structure need to be much more driver-friendly. Drivers should not be blamed for app issues, bad pins, incorrect passenger addresses, or poor directions. We also need fairer compensation for fuel, vehicle maintenance, airport trips, and out-of-town rides. Right now, too many costs and problems are being pushed onto the driver while the pay does not reflect the reality of doing the job.

Wait times are crazy!

No matter how much advance you put you’re waiting to find a driver so you’ll be late. You have better chances of being on time walking to where you need to be.
