Pathetic design
The software UI design is terrible, and the pairing process for multiple devices is like performing self-dental surgery. The bridge doesn’t support 5ghz which was NOT clear ahead of purchase. It’s 2026, this is a case of a company that’s not reinvesting and modernizing. Would never recommend these tools / this brand in future

Sucks. I live in a high desert and the designers have no idea what’s required to manage a dwelling in this environment. Their arrogance and ignorance is unmatched in my experience. Shame on this company.

Of all the automation apps i’ve used, this is the very worst. It is impossible to connect this app to the gateway. Once you finally manage to connect it using an entirely different method, it can see all your devices but control none. Total waste of electricity

My Venus roof windows and blinds have been installed for 10 years now and work perfectly. Just added a Velux Active module and set it up in 30 minutes brilliant product😊
iOS App Gets Stuck Registering New Sensors
Issues adding a sensor to the gateway. The app hangs on the Registering screen. I tried multiple times, reset the sensor, and even let it sit for more than 10 minutes, but it never completed the registration.
After numerous failed attempts, I tried using the Android app instead, and it worked immediately. The iOS app definitely needs debugging.

Rubbish app!
Such a clunky app. I’m home now, it rained 1/2 an hour ago, stopped completely, now I can’t open the windows at all because “risk of rain”!!
Manual control would be much better if I could reach the high one!!

Poor App
This app is average at best, even when it is working.
Lacks basic features: There is no option to set custom scenes. For example, you cannot create a preset to open only 6 out of 10 windows in the house simultaneously.
Frequent connection drops: The app regularly loses connection to the servers, throwing a false "gateway not connected to the internet" error.
Flawed connectivity logic: The gateway is actually connected to the internet. If I manually operate a window using a physical remote, the app suddenly wakes up, reconnects, and responds again.
Missed opportunity for local control: The app desperately needs to support local control when you are on the same Wi-Fi network. While cloud servers make sense for remote access outside the home, local operation should be seamless, instant, and independent of external servers.
The underlying hardware concept is great, but the software execution falls short.

Very Tempremental
For reasons unknown the gateway lost its settings and now needs to be reconnected to all my roof lights.
Unuser-friendly instructions
Instructions for set up are appalling. In fact the remote controls are impossible to set up and as I mentioned the instructions do not help at all.
Unstable
It drops off the Internet so frequently that I can’t rely on it working. In a room with phones and Alexa devices it continually says the router isn’t connected to the Internet. Which is nonsense, as every other device in that room is fine.

Great app, s little buggy at times though, everything at your finder tips, I have 4 uk08’s, all solar. Customer care is fantastic although takes a little time to respond between emails. Overall I’m really happy.
Update
However it’s now started saying after them being in three years it’s raining cats and dogs, it’s nearly June and it’s 28°, no rain expected at all, logged a call with support but I’m not hopeful, so be aware of this happening to you.
