Wouldn’t help with fraud
Contacted Venmo regarding a compromised account with someone trying to get 8888.88 out of my account. Immediately contacted them and they still have me owing that and restricted my account. Even sent all the screenshots of the fraud. Worst customer service if I could give 0 stars I would.
They did nothing.
Called my bank they had to freeze my account.

Terrible security & support!
I had over $1000 stolen from my Venmo balance from an account hacker. Support was impossible to get a hold of a human, they sent me in an endless loop. Beware of keeping money in Venmo it is not secure! Now my account is suspended and I cannot access my money!
It's just another greedy bank.
Venmo is operated by Synchrony Bank. Pause for a moment and consider - is 23, 24 percent interest anything but greedy? You decide. While you're deciding, look up "usury" if you don't already know what it means.

I can’t even talk to a real person on the phone anymore. I can’t get into the app because it says “sorry something went wrong”. I tried everything to fix it with no avail. So when I can’t get into the account I have to go through a friends phone to talk to any customer service person which they say “you have to email our service team” which I did and the email said if you need help please check the website, also this email is left unchecked. Stupid mf

Honestly, there needs to be a way to contact a human. The chat bot options are worthless and very frustrating. U all gotta step it up!
Constant errors
I’ve encountered errors nearly every step of the way while signing up and setting up my account. This is the most pathetic app experience I’ve ever had.

They only have AI customer service for chats and pre recorded voice messages. Trying to get any support or answers is infuriating.
Payment
Absolutely the worst costume service on an app I’ve ever dealt with. Told something different by each person I and the other person involved in the transaction spoke with. Nothing resolved or even attempted to be resolved.

1) Customer service is practically non existence. Venmo is obviously not interested in making themselves available to help their own customers.
2) I make a large transfer to Venmo on Feb 13…where is it? It’s been a week that you’ve had my money and it’s nowhere to be found. Zelle is sooo much better. Closing my account as soon as I get my money back.

Too invasive
The system is set up to be too dependent on Venmo support and Venmo support is impossible to get someone live
Added money to Venmo still not available
Would give it a negative star if able. Added money to Venmo but after 7 days transaction is still pending. Money taken out of bank account right away but not available after a whole week.
