The doctors are good, but team communication is really bad. Unless you are doing nothing and seating on your phone 24/7.
Your animal will die before you get your medication. If you are a busy person, just go directly to the doctor. Your communication with the team will take all your time, that you can use for work or getting done some other tasks.
I loved the doctor and was so happy for some savings. But if you do not get your meds or if it takes 2-3 weeks to get them all the doctor’s work is pointless.

Unconscionable Price Gauging
My dog had diarrhea while traveling and I had spent two nights getting up every two hours. He’s a very healthy young dog so I knew I probably just needed some meds. Talked with a vet. She basically confirmed he was fine and just needed som meds to calm his tummy and stop the diarrhea. She said I would get a visit summary and I could have the meds mailed to my hotel. I waited all day for the visit summary and a confirmation that meds are on the way. Fed him chicken and rice as I had been to help make the situation better. But he started having diarrhea again late at night. Headed to the ER to get meds. Took 15 minutes and another $300 (on top of the $100 I paid on vetster). Got the meds and my dog and I finally got some sleep. Next morning I finally get the visit summary and the prescription for the meds. Turns out that the same “prescription meds” are available at many different stores around the country for $29 when this vetster vet wanted to charge me $90 some bucks for the EXACT same medication…same exact packing, same exact ingredients, same exact strength. WOW…I know vet care is a business but come on. This is just not right! $102 for a 10-15 minute call with a vet that helped me zero and then had to wait 24 hours to get a script I didn’t even need. I would rather pay more to see an emergency vet and get help right away and get some sleep for me and my lovely doggo 😊🙏🏻

Why take somebody’s money over the phone when you can’t help them because you live in a certain State.. This is unacceptable and should be fixed.

This is a greedy and dishonest site. Don’t waste your time and money on deceptive practices! You ask for a simple tick and flea prescription, but instead, they are pushing for the sale of their products at their price. They are thinking we are all stupid here and we should pay for their misleading, not satisfactorily, services. No service, no pay!

Scammers
This company intentionally scams its customers. Yes, they clearly put on their website that providers outside of your state cannot prescribe medication. But, they don’t tell you which providers are within your state or not. So you could pay $100 for a 15min virtual apt for them to tell you there’s nothing you can do and you need to contact the support team. Then, support runs you in circles with scripted AI responses (yes, probably coming from a live person). They give you the run around, provide a number to call but then tell you it’s only for voice messages. So, the customer is left with being out $100 and they claim it’s the customer’s fault cause they wanted us on their website. I’m tempted to send my experience to the Indiana Attorney General.

Difficult to find how to message a vet. The message notifications email is not linked to the app, every time I click on the link asking me to download the app but I have already had the app downloaded.
Check Your State Laws Before Paying for Vetster
I was previously very happy with Vetster and had successfully used their virtual veterinary service in the past, which is why I renewed my $120 membership. Before renewing, I even contacted customer service with questions.
What I was not told is that recent legal changes now prevent veterinarians in Washington, and many other states, from prescribing medications through virtual appointments. During my appointment, the vet informed me she could only give advice and refer me to an in-person veterinarian.
Had Vetster clearly disclosed this before taking my payment, I would not have renewed and would have used that money toward a physical vet visit instead.
What upset me most was how customer service handled the situation afterward. When I requested a refund, I was told memberships are non-refundable, and the responses were dismissive and rude. I was also told medications were “up to the veterinarian’s discretion,” which was misleading because the issue was actually a legal restriction, not the vet’s personal choice.
I ultimately disputed the charge through my card provider and won.
Vetster used to be a genuinely valuable service before these law changes, but the company needs to be far more transparent with customers in affected states before charging for memberships. I strongly encourage pet owners to check their own state laws regarding virtual veterinary prescribing before subscribing, especially since laws changed recently in 2026.

Turned scammy
Had a vet get me on a medication different from what my dog would get fairly frequently for ear infections. I was only able to order it online because I live in a rural area and it ended up being an extra 120. They wouldn’t let me cancel the subscription and go a different route. Used to be a real good app. Be careful of what vet you’re using

I bought a subscription because my dog has high anxiety going to the vet and I thought this would help. The first vet I saw was helpful. The 2nd appt I had a different vet prescribed meds. When I went to have the order filed the pharmacist said the vet had 16 charges of animal cruelty against him and refused to fill the script. I chatted with someone to file a complaint and they told me they would send the script to another pharmacy and report the issue to a supervisor. I never heard from anyone and when I went to the other pharmacy they never received the prescription. Very frustrating.

Waste of money
The only thing that they’re interested is making more money. You have a 48 hour window to email your Vet. prescription instructions were not clear so if you have any questions you’re gonna have to pay another $102 to speak to your vet .You don’t get your prescriptions till after that. As I said, they’re more interested in making money instead of the well-being of your pet.
