Notifications
I’ve been having a serious issue with Vivint notifications not coming through reliably. I have already tried everything I could on my end, including troubleshooting the app, checking notification settings, and following the recommended steps, but I’m still not receiving notifications.
This is a major problem for a security system because notifications are one of the most important features. I shouldn’t have to repeatedly troubleshoot the same issue or wonder whether I’m going to be notified when something happens.
I’m leaving this review because I hope the developers and technical team will actually investigate the underlying issue rather than continuing to suggest the same basic troubleshooting steps. I have already done those steps and the problem remains.
Vivint developers/support: please look into this as a technical issue with the notification system and provide a real solution. I would appreciate someone taking ownership of the problem and explaining what is being done to fix it.

Horrible
The app works less than half the time the camera records when it wants. I haven’t been able to go back and look at the events for the past three weeks, I can never set the alarm from the app. I am just counting down the days for my contract to be over to change providers

Endless problems and incomplete work
I have 2 uninstalled cameras and multiple access points… already paid for! Not done… going on a month. Sensors are constantly going off line and they were talked along with the cameras to fix those. The repair lasted 2 days. 2/4 cameras installed… zero follow up.
Door lock programming
The Technician was very helpful and knowledgeable about everything. was very, very pleased with outcome and I will refer other people to Vivit. Thanks again.

Always something wrong
If the cameras aren’t working, then it takes forever for the house to arm itself… closing the app out multiple times, to get the house to arm itself. We have fiber optic and dedicated lines just for the security system. I would not recommend Vivint to anyone, terrible warranty (so they don’t stand behind their products), can’t even use the cameras you paid for after the subscription is over with, to use with another system, because they block and change the tokens. Stay away from them… you are better off just putting together a system from Best Buy, and or Amazon with a NAS/NVR; you will not only get more for your money, but save money and headaches.

Battery
We have changed our battery multiple times and it continues to make the noise to inform us that it needs to be changed again.
Bad
It rarely works. I don’t get alerts when people come to the door. I can’t access my cameras when I’m not at home. I just hate vivint I hate it.
Robbed by corporation that offers no security to its constituents
I have been with Vivint over three years. They mounted my doorbell camera wrongly. They promised they would fix it. They had a technician that no longer works for them anymore that robbed my house of over $25,000 of ivory. I have told them repeatedly over the years they do nothing about it. Someone ripped out the cord from my back camera and I have not been able to use it for three years and they will not send a technician to fix it. I have appealed to them over and over and over over and over and over and they have one regional manager that will not send a technician everything that has been required. I have complied with. The shame is no executive and the executive knows about it. No CEO no one will address this matter so every month I get robbed for paying for a service that I am not receiving. Now my front doorbell camera does not work. They told me that they would send me a free panic alarm they never did. Every month, though they have an automatic draft they take out of my bank account with no proper service. My niece ordered for more window strips and another camera, and they never came out to install it. My rating of their service are you kidding!

Failure to close garage door
I have never been so frustrated in my life. The garage door has been an issue since day 2…worked great for a day.
Issues
The camera goes offline too often, and the app has too many issues. Customer service always wants you to reboot.
Fix your app!!
The app is great when it works, the problem is half the time it doesn’t. When the app doesn’t work I can be right next to the panel and it won’t turn it on/off. Very inconvenient when you’re trying to let someone in without being home.
Cops
The cops were alerted to my home even after I put false alarm and I thank god the cops showed up just to check up but just because it was a false report now we got a letter through mail about paying the city cops for coming for no reason first time experiencing this but I never thought I could be charged for a false alarm when cops are called all day and night for the dumbest things possible

The system is faulty- I don’t like that you can’t automatically get an upgrade on stuff - nothing is free and I been with them for 3 years- nothing missed
Not working
Currently the rewind and history recording playback isn’t working for any of the cameras. Recorded events are about useless. By the time the cameras record an activity and alert. The only video i see is the person walking out of view.

Hate the app too buggy
Very buggy sometimes it doesn’t open sometimes it doesn’t unlock my door. One of my cameras is upside down. I cannot rewatch events because the app doesn’t work properly on my phone. Hate the app. But I’m unlocking my door from the app. It takes forever because it’s not connecting even though I have five bars I am sitting in my car for an additional time because I’m waiting for the app to open my door. It takes me less time to open the door manually then to use the actual app. Sometimes the app just glitches out and decides not to open up or work or it’ll force close in the middle of while I’m trying to use the application.

App never works or is delayed. Can’t go back and rewatch clips without it buffering forever.
