Should be more transparent
I have been searching for houses with a sea view and close to a beach.Many of the properties have photos of beaches but they are often a long way from the property and there are limited photographs of the outside of the buildings.
Search filters don’t work so if you want houses the search includes apartments !

Rip off
We recently booked on VRBO and they cancelled our booking as it was misrepresented. They reimbursed us the fee but not the booking of over $3,000. We contacted our bank and have no way of getting this money back. Stay away from these corporate crooks.
A Truly Tremendous Time at "Tahoe Tranquility"
We spent 4 lovely nights at "Tahoe Tranquility", perched above the shore of north Lake Tahoe, looking west towards Carnelian Bay. The accommodations were as advertised with everything we needed. Our hostess, Ginger, was more than accommodating and had freshly baked scones and beverages in the refrigerator for us on arrival. There was ample information on area attractions and instructions on how to interface with informatics. We saw some incredible sunsets as the view was fantastic. There was some road noise, but it was not a major distraction. I can highly recommend a stay here and we will certainly rebook if we return.

App is AWFUL
This is the most difficult app I’ve ever tried to use. It’s impossible to separate trips if you’re trying to book the same accommodation you’ve booked before. Very difficult to navigate.
Location
When I ask about rentals for a location, either show me that location or say nothing is available there. Don’t shuffle me off to…wherever.
Spacious beautiful place
This place was spacious and beautiful with all the amenities that we could ever have needed or wanted. It was also very clean.
September Get Away
We stayed in early September for my wife’s birthday. The weather was incredible. The water was surprisingly warm and we really enjoyed the short walk to the beach. 10/10 would recommend.
Clunky
I got an email saying the VRBO host left me a review, but I can’t find it in the app. The only one I see is one from six years ago!

Terrible hidden fees
I was renting a stay a year from now, which VRBO told me would be a total of 1172$, which I was glad to pay and budget for later. A few moments later, I was informed by my bank that was overdraft on my credit card with the 1172 PLUS 1500$ for damage protection, which was not listed under the fees anywhere. I immediately contacted VRBO to cancel the transaction and they said it would be almost two weeks to get the refund to me. Somehow, it’s still pending on my credit card, but they can’t reserve the transaction for two weeks?? And the owner is impossible to reach because now the app is telling me that it’s up to them to finalize the cancellation. I may have to go through my financial Institution to get this resolved and they have lost me as a customer for life. They could’ve forced it through, especially with the hidden fees, but now I’m broke without ways to pay for anything for another week and the owner is not responding to any messages. This entire thing feels like a scam

Terrible Refund Policy
Rented a cabin through this app and it turned out to be full of bats roosting in the curtains, flying around the house landing on us, hanging on the walls, and crawling on the stove and countertops. The property owner refunded their portion promptly but VRBO refused to refund their fees. User beware—VRBO is a shady business partner. Find a better way to rent.

Sketchy hosts, poor customer service, bad design.
A host immediately tried to force me to cancel after booking… VRBO said it would be resolved after an hour on the phone, mostly really poor AI assistance and any help through the site or app is a mess. Use Airbnb instead I guess
Great until you have a problem.
Easy to book a vacation rental. Just hope you don’t have a problem. Have been using it for years and booked many, many stays. All good until you get a property owner who is crazy. Then VRBO does nothing to help. They can have full pictures in the listing like a hot tub, but if it’s not specifically listed as an amenity it doesn’t have to be there. Owners can tell you something in the conversation through the app that VRBO can see but they cannot enforce it. The owners can harass you and drive by 30 times a day and VRBO will do nothing to assist you. Do not recommend.

Don’t buy insurance
I paid extra for insurance- when my husband and I got to our rented spot it was too dangerous to go in (garbage all around, curtains blowing out the windows and people loitering by the door). They said that wasn’t a covered reason. I lost thousands of dollars.
DO NOT USE VRBO
To be quite honest with you, they are so unprofessional and have false advertisement. The host are the ones that own and are the only ones that can cancel or confirm a booking so if the host doesn’t speak to you, doesn’t respond, they will hold all of the money that you spent on the rental for up to three weeks. Don’t worry! because when you call customer service because you booked a vacation rental thinking that it would actually happen they will tell you oh the host has to confirm it and even though it states that after 24 hours VRBO will cancel your reservation. That doesn’t happen. The host has to cancel the reservation for you to be able to actually get your refund. Even after 48 hours. DO NOT USE THIS APP OR THIS WEBSITE.

Deer valley
The company that I rented this townhome from was amazing. I loved the townhome. I want to rent it again. Perfect spot it was clean. It was very well equipped and when it was hot and we asked for fans the very next moment they were giving us fans I couldn’t have had a better stay thank you so much.
Never Again
I had a horrible experience where I got very sick from a dirty rental and got no help. I will never use VRBO again.
Great stay prior to cruise
Excellent communication, convenient location, beautiful, super-clean unit, easy parking. Where Gretchen really shines is all the extras she provides - toiletries, laundry detergent, coffee, CREAMER, bottled water, snacks, and absolutely everything you might need for a day at the beach. Thank you!!
