Confusing and Convoluted

So far, this (now mandatory) newer app has made managing my money much more difficult. The UI all looks the like same boring minimalist graphics, making it harder to differentiate between pages. My biggest problem however, is now my savings, checking and credit are all in their own separate submenus, whereas I could navigate those on the former app with about 3 taps, and now I’m floundering having to go back and forth to double check my money is going where I need it to. They had a good system, I don’t know why all modern corporations need to abandon what worked prior for something new.

Just takes a while to get used to

At first, I was frustrated because I’ve been using that other app for so long and I saw the poor review. I read the other review and it said you can’t deposit mobile checks and you absolutely can just click on transfer and pay then mobile deposit I like it better. It seems a lot cleaner.

Missing the Old App

I was forced to switch over to the new app and while it seems to be working fine, my online banking has become significantly more difficult due to two missing features:

1) I can’t easily swap back and forth between my husband and my accounts. You have to completely delete your login and biometric data, and reset a PIN every time you switch accounts.

2) The Insights & Budget tab is broken. I used to track several categories of spending closely on the old app, and the new app seems to lump everything that isn’t Mortgage, ATM withdrawals, and a few other random categories into “Transfers”. I can’t track my grocery, restaurant, pet, health, etc. spending, so it’s now a useless feature. I also can no longer filter by account or time frame— it’s only month by month.

Needs work

Clunky, slow. Too hard to find where to do a mobile deposit and where to sign out. Mobile deposit with the phone camera was weird. Picture had to be horizontal but input of info was only possible by holding phone vertical. Also, the decimal point is so small it’s hard to see to press it. Ps, the mobile version poor but so is the desktop version. Account total is misleading and it’s clunky to see what’s pending and what’s cleared. Overall a bad job, not customer friendly and not up to WSECU’s usual standards.

Terrible Update - Requires Yet Another Separate Pin Number

First of all, this is the only app in the entire App Store that requires you to sign in with your Apple ID for some reason. I have 100 apps and none have ever asked for me to do this. Also, you are required to create a brand new separate pin just to use this app. This new four digit pin can’t have any numbers that are adjacent to each other. For example, if your pen had the numbers two and then three, it will be rejected, etc. Totally ridiculous and unnecessary.

Very buggy - not production ready

Not sure what is going on but in the past three weeks online access across web and mobile has been down for hours at a time — no messaging online and zero update or follow-up. In this day and age to not have 99.99% uptime on a critical financial app is unacceptable. At least handle your issues with users with an informational message on your landing page!

From a features and functionality standpoint it’s ok. I can see how the dark mode and look and feel may not be everyone’s preference but compared to the inconvenience of no access at all for hours at a time and no way to get in touch with anyone after hours seems pretty secondary.

Do better.

Stupid

Always needs to update like just keep it the same

No longer full screen?

Old app was full screen on Ipad. New one is a little tiny screen no matter the orientation. At least make it full screen for ipad users. Zoom in is blurry. I just want to be able to use my password, not a required 4 digit passcode. I don’t use the face ID. A 4 digit code is less secure. Cant use the apple passwords app with new app? Why change a good thing? Bring back old app functionality.

Clearly everyone hates this app

Clearly based on other reviews this app is so much worse than the old one and WSECU doesn’t care. They took away the ability to see when my next payment is due and what my payment amount on my loan is….I’ve been playing around with it for about 5 minutes and can’t see that information anywhere. It used to just be easily accessible under account details…..Why did they take it away and purposely give us less information? That’s so frustrating.

Idk it’s p solid!

Kinda makes me sad to see the rating so low I’ve been a WSECU members for almost 10 years now and I’ve really enjoyed the app? It’s simple, direct, no frills, not too many service options to choose from or get confused by and doesn’t require a headache of a sign in process. The only thing I truly miss from the older version was the Balance Quick Check feature that was sooo helpful (please bring it back lol). Maybe I’m just a low-maintenance member but I’ve really enjoyed the app and whatever issues I’ve had the customer service has always been able to help well!!!

Can’t deposit checks through app

Literally no way to deposit checks via new app, also can’t log into old app because it directs you to the new app. Garbage

Not great

While the app is more or less functional, the previous app was much better.

These are the issues I have with this version:

- Undismissable banner takes up a lot of screen space in the bill pay area
- Expense categorization automation is…not great (example: purchase from US Holocaust Museum gift shop categorized as “gasoline/fuel”)
- When you change the expense category for a line item and close the window, you’re returned to the top of the list
- Categorization is only applied to one line item at a time, and the automation does not learn
- Cannot view check images
- Not a fan of a mandatory 4-digit access pin to unlock the app; you can add face ID but cannot opt out of the pin

Why did they bother to make a new version that is just worse? Nothing of value was added as far as I can tell.

A total disgrace to WSECU and disservice to members

The team that allowed this app out of development and into production should be embarrassed. The management that pushed for release of this app should be demoted and reassigned to less critical infrastructure.

This app a significant downgrade in almost every aspect.

It feels as though aesthetic appeal was the only metric being judged.

User interface is poor, requiring more effort for the most common transactions and making it harder to access basic information. And, it’s slow!

-Lack of support for multiple user accounts is a tremendous fail.

-Requiring a 4 digit pin rather than a secure password is mind boggling in 2026(yes, I understand biometric sign in is an option. This is still a huge security misstep).

I could go on, but there’s plenty of reviews already detailing member issues and disappointment.

What the heck are you folks doing over there? You’re one of the largest credit unions in the country and this app would be disappointing even from one of the smallest. Please do better.

Horrible App

Why change what’s not broken!?! This new app is horrible

Not a great update

All I use the app for is to pay my mobile loan once a month. This update forced me to call to pay because I have no way to just pay with my debit card from my bank now. It forces you to link an external account, and I have no idea why you would remove the option to just pay with a card every month.

New App Issues

Not thrilled with the look or functionality. Also why can you not see full balance totals?

Major Downgrade

If it ain’t broke why fix it? So much less security using a 4 digit pin rather than a password. And to fix that I have to go through a bunch of steps that seem like a major pain and are not intuitive what so ever. It also seems like I am having to update this multiple times for it to even function. I really don’t understand the thought process behind their decision to make it so much worse.

Why no Overall Account total?

The previous app displayed the overall total of my account at the bottom.
Why does this new one not do that as well? When I asked in the general question portal, I was told there was no plans to add that function. This previously existed in the WSECU app, and all other banking apps I’ve encountered will offer this sum still. So this seems pretty ridiculous to not even consider adding that function back.

Good But Needs Time To Improve

This app is better than the old one, mostly because it doesn’t feel outdated.

I haven’t encountered any bugs with this app yet and it runs smoothly. I believe the main reason for its negative reviews is that it’s still in development, but they’re actively working on improving the issues.

I encourage anyone who has problems to reach out to WSECU with their feedback. I’ve provided them with a lot of feedback and received a prompt response and confirmation within the next day. They’re also open to further app enhancements.

Overall, the app is good, but it needs more time to improve. I’d like to see changes sooner rather than later, but I understand that they’re not a large bank, so it may take longer than expected.

Fix upgrade bugs

Ever since the forced update and redesign, sign in is unreliable. Sometimes it shows the new log in and that works with Face ID and everything. But other times it shows me the old login screen and I can not log in. It’s inconsistent and unreliable. Also bring back showing the ATM limit on debit cards and make it easier to transfer to bank accounts outside of wsecu
