Useless App
The main zoom app is for parents. It allows updating contact info, updating rides, and management of multiple kid’s profiles. The main app works great.
This app is supposed to be for students/ riders. I would imagine it should only allow them to access their profile if there’s more than one kid in the household. It also shouldn’t allow them to skip/ update rides. There’s only one problem. There is NO WAY TO LOGIN. You must login using credentials the school has on file. School’s don’t, and shouldn’t, keep student phone numbers on file. Well.. how is a student supposed to login to the app without an associated phone/ email?
There’s literally no way for a child to log into the app, and I wouldn’t want Zum having my kids contact info anyway. As of now, there’s no way for a kid to see where their bus/ ride is without the parent being there using the main Zum parent app. The only other option is to let your kid log into the parent account on their own phone. I trust my kids enough to do that, but they shouldn’t have full administrative privileges over all the accounts in the household..
Zum needs to make a separate app for the RIDER to use without personal contact info. Such as using a student ID to login, along with a code/ invite link from the school. There’s much work to be done by Zum to make sure parents and riders both can stay updated on their rides.
