Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: NYDocSubmit at 4.8 against Heller's Gas's 4.2. NYDocSubmit also leads on ratings volume (26K vs 17) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 14 months). Heller's Gas's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 70%) and iOS requirement (12.2 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
NYDocSubmit holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NYDocSubmit has 26K ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of NYDocSubmit's written reviews are positive against 100% of Heller's Gas's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
NYDocSubmit ships an update every 3 months, Heller's Gas every 14 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
