Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Smart Traveller (ST) holds the better App Store score, 2.4 against 2.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 12 and 5 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 10% of Smart Traveller (ST)'s written reviews are positive against 22% of MyBorderPass's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
