Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Pulseway at 86% against UniFi Design's 23%. Pulseway also leads on ratings volume (618 vs 6) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). UniFi Design's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and monetization model (free vs freemium). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

UniFi Design holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pulseway has 618 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of Pulseway's written reviews are positive against 23% of UniFi Design's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Pulseway ships an update every 6 weeks, UniFi Design fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
