Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: National Grid at 4.8 against ckSmithSuperior's 3.0. National Grid also leads on ratings volume (15K vs 4) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 6 months). ckSmithSuperior's advantage is review sentiment (33% vs 25%) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

National Grid holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: National Grid has 15K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of National Grid's written reviews are positive against 33% of ckSmithSuperior's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

National Grid ships an update every 6 weeks, ckSmithSuperior every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
