Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is monetization model: Microsoft 365 Admin at free against Bitwarden Password Manager's freemium. Microsoft 365 Admin also leads on review sentiment (78% vs 67%). Bitwarden Password Manager's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Bitwarden Password Manager holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bitwarden Password Manager has 34K ratings behind it against 5.8K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of Microsoft 365 Admin's written reviews are positive against 67% of Bitwarden Password Manager's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Microsoft 365 Admin ships an update every 6 weeks, Bitwarden Password Manager fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
