Expensive but worth it
I purchased an Aladdin connect garage door after having tried several others that failed. At the beginning I had set up and had notification problems, but the helpful costumer service was exceptional. Even the sirely lady that obviously didn’t like dealing with me ( or my sarcastic comments( you say one thing but it didn’t work) ) was appreciated ( in the end). After several calls, and rearranging the instrument to a better position this continued to continual works, both with Alexa, her voice command, and through their program. Haven’t been back to customer service in at least a year( knock on wood). More expensive, yes; but it works!!

Does what it’s supposed to do, well.
My old garage door opener went out in the middle of winter a couple of years ago. I bought the one with the strongest motor and wifi capabilities that was in stock. It was easy to install, even though it was the first time I’ve installed one. It’s been working very well for almost two years now. I like the small size of the remote control openers, their range, and that the keyboard opener that’s screwed on the garage door frame is wireless, and easy to program a pin. I recommended it to a coworker, he brought a newer version of the same garage door opener and he loves it. He’s younger and more computer savvy. He has it hooked up to the same app as all his other apple smart home devices. I like it separate from my other devices and have the Aladdin app installed on my phone. Either way you like it on your phone, you’ll love the silent motor (compared to my old garage door opener) and the fact that you’ll forget about it, take it for granted that it will do what it’s intended to do trouble free.

I love this app and all the genie products
So I purchased this house and inside the garage there was a genie belt driven opener. I decided to try and connect but previous owner already had the device registered under his email. I called genie support they were very nice and helpful unlinked the device from his account and I was able to properly register it under my Aladdin app. Then i decided to upgrade the second garage door with another genie so I can have everything in the same app. Genie openers are great I might also upgrade to a bolt drive later down the road but the belt is also very nice. I just wish it opened the door a bit faster.

The app works great but it doesn’t work with Alexa

absolutely essential app. makes your garage opener into a complete system starting with the ease of operating to open/close, to the simple automations that can be added to automatically close the door during your set times or duration open. App setup was way easier than i expected. One other thing i was not expecting and am still quite purplexed as to how it is able to achieve, is the fact that this app operates even when i am not at home and out running errands -- so, it seems to be able to connect and notify and allows me to operate the garage opener with my phone from whereever i am. i have no idea how it manages this... or somehow maybe being on same cell/internet provider (Rogers Canada), the communication is made possible. i was amazed.

Works like expected
I would buy this garage door motor apparatus again. It’s quiet when opening and closing. The app works flawlessly.
Randomly goes offline
When it works it’s great. I’m able to let my housekeeper in via my phone. However it has randomly gone offline three times in the last three months. Most recently twice this week. The first time I went through all the steps to reconnect, but it never did. I finally gave up and thought we would never be able to use this app to open it and then it suddenly starts working again for no reason. Now this week it’s randomly gone off-line …it’ll come back on and then a day later I noticed I’m not getting notifications and it’s off-line. Calling the company is completely useless because they just have you try to go through the steps to reset it to Wi-Fi, which is obviously not the issue if it can randomly come on and off by itself.
Update: it’s been several months since I’ve written this review and I’m still having the same problem goes on and off line for no reason whatsoever.

Quick thoughts 3 years in
I’ve been really pleased with the Aladdin app. At first, I was concerned because it didn’t seem to stay connected after every few weeks. Those bugs have been worked out and it maintains communication with my Wi-Fi and the units well. I have two garage doors and two separate units and it’s very responsive and simple user interface. It be nice to see more features and functionality added to it. It does not work well with my Alexa, but that’s probably an Alexa problem because Alexa doesn’t work well with much of anything. I’m happy with it. I’ve recommended it to others. my only complaint is I would love to see more features for the price you pay for these things.

Best thing for security I ever bought
My kids can’t seem to remember to close the door. With the app and installed hardware I can check and close the door from anywhere. The only issue is it doesn’t connect to Alexa.
