  • Not great

Blocks some ads not all, in order for it to work effectively you have to turn off privacy settings essentially allowing whomever has access to see sensitive information. Doesn’t work at all for the YouTube app as well, constantly have to refresh the app.
  • Disappointed

I believed the hype but it’s all BS. I chose to replace another blocker to get rid of increasingly invasive ads served by Google and this app does NOT WORK to clean up sites that are increasingly unreadable. SkyNews au and related sites are wall to wall ads.

Really disappointed, guys. Disappointed in Tom’s Hardware more so for the BS review that led to the purchase. The web is just a sewer.

  • Good

  • Better than AdGuard.

I’ve been using AdGuard for some time, but I had troubles with it from time to time. For example I started encountering “Disable your adblocker” banners a couple of days ago and it seems I can’t do anything with them using AdGuard. I’ve enabled all settings, all lists, nothing. But with Wipr it just work, no more banners, amazing! For what it costs it’s a royal bargain, I hope developer(s) will continue the great job!

  • It just works

Perfect for the price. Turn it on once and it works
  • Not THAT great

Adguard Pro is better, but seems to be immune to website pop-ups pleading to be white-listed. Ads still popping up with Wipr, but at least gets rid of white-list whining.
  • Works a treat

Honestly so glad to have found something that works. The wiper extra stops Reddit from trying to redirect to the app (which I don’t have anyway, the reddit app is horrible).

Other than that, great for those recipe sites which fill the entire screen with ads and are borderline unusable. This makes the web so much better, and the one time price is absolutely worth it.

  • 10/10 app that actually works

This was suggested to me a while ago and the small payment was actually worth it because the app does it what does
  • Works but Reddit website is broken

On Reddit website in safari, can’t scroll down when wipr is active. Have to disable wipr to continue.

Otherwise ad blocking works quite well.
  • Accessible with voiceover, and only pay once.

The an app purchases are just for tipping purposes. They don’t enable extra features. This is a good thing because it means that you’re $2.0 or so gives you permanent access to all features in the app. Best of all for me as a screen, reader user, this developer cares about Accessibility and everything works under voiceover on the iPhone anyway. If you have questions read the FAQ. they’re extremely thorough, it’s great documentation.
