Great features on the app but bugs that need to be fixed.
I think that the app has excellent features and it’s easy to use. I am however having some issues with using it on my IPhone XS Max when I turn the phone for a horizontal view I get a static green screen. I tried it on my IPhone X and it works fine so I’m guessing there is just some sort of bug. Has anyone else had this issue? Will there be an update anytime soon? Great to have an app for this gimbal
Weebill Lab - please get the time-lapse working, it doesn't fire correctly and only moves partially (example, for 30 photos in motion time-lapses with 1 second interval, it will end after 30 second but only says 3/30 on the progress bar and despite screen flashing three times, no photos on the memory card) Sony A7R2 — however it does move through the sequence correctly when movie is selected under the movement time-lapses... bizarre.
Tracking should keep the object in same position relative to the frame. Also please smooth out movement during tracking. Much appreciated.
Please dont let your app ruin your reputation, it is affecting your reviews and opinion among the community.

WARNING Kills your battery
After about 30mins of video battery (100%) of my iPhone X was down 20%. I have also tired this app with iPhone 5s and the same happens both running iOS v12.1. This was using the app with Smooth Q (which as a fumble is great btw but this software needs improvement).
Zhiyun needs to fix this as it is unusable at the moment and there is something in the app that is eating the power. Zhiyun have acknowledged this on Twitter (search google) but no fix yet. 😡Show lessPD0506
App non functional
The gimbal hardware has been phenomenal, however, the app adds little. I have yet to get the panorama function to work. The motion time lapse has also yet to work (after setting the various set points, the gimbal does not return to the start point, it just starts recoding there). Additionally, the blue tooth connection is very spotty, which the zhi yun hardware team assured me is part of the app dysfunction.
I waited nearly 6 weeks for this latest update with absolutely no improvement in any function. Quite disappointing when so much utility of the gimbal is non-accessible with the app in its current state.
Update:
Finally an update with functioning panorama, and motion time lapse. Works quite well! Unfortunate it took so long but better late than never.

Stopped transferring on iPhone XS
App (even the latest version) no longer writes a file format that can be transferred from the camera roll (after copying from the app) to either Windows or Mac OS. Currently using iPhone XS and this functionality was working fine on iPhone 6s. Have already contacted support via FB and was told to delete and reinstall the app and that I would lost the files that are currently stored in the app. Unacceptable solution as my content is for business. The inability to transfer files from the app->camera roll->desktop makes this app completely unusable. Developers fix it and I'll update this review/rating.Show lessTheTsubasa
Bluetooth Doesn’t Pair (Updated)
There was an issue with Bluetooth but I disabled it and then reactivated it and that seemed to do the trick.
I have now been getting to grips with this application and managed to get some wonderful time lapse videos. I’m happy with the application yet the gimbal itself is fantastic.
Definitely worth investing if you feel you want to create good video footage.Show lessWhistleblower

Love the smooth 4 gimbal, and this app seems to work pretty well with it. Haven’t had any issues, captures great videorohanwright
How about support for Fuji >_<
The app works ok. The gimbal does as well and that’s why I bought it even though some features are not usable with my camera (Fuji-film XT2). I wish we could get support but oh well. I’d like to see the programming of panning time-lapses be improved. Sometimes when you program a 360 it doesn’t pan the same velocity for the entire . Also it isn’t very intuitive to save your favorite movements. Using the app to change the speed at which the gimbal pans is also a complete joke and I believe it is bugged. 3 out of 5.Show lessCave mandarin to decent
Good app but some room for improvement
I am excited to own the Smooth 4. While the gimbal /can/ be used alone, a good portion of functionality currently requires this app to access.
Several suggestions:
- I can’t for the life of me see the resolution icons at the top. Is it on 720p or 4K? Hard to tell unless I hold the screen on a contrasting background.
- I really would like a way to run the motion in the background. Say I would like to set up the gimbal to swing across the landscape over several hours, press “go”, then switch to my preferred time lapse app to record. Currently if you switch out of the ZY app, the gimbal stops moving.
- better tutorials. Especially for the time lapse. What does pan lock or tilt lock functionally do? Does it remove jitter when doing a horizontal tap pan? Is HDR for photos only or also video? Can I set it to do HDR timelapse?

App needs work
Using on iPhone X with Smooth 4. 70% of the time the app works fine and as expected. However when performing (or trying to perform) certain tasks it crashes and immediately quits. I still have not managed to successfully take a 3x3 panorama - get as far as the “photo generation” stage and the app crashes. This has happened every time I’ve tried to use this feature which is maybe 20 or so times in the last month. Please fix this!Show lessRooster-007
