  • Northshore Evanston Kellogg cancer center

Northshore Evanston Kellogg Cancer Center is the most efficient, professional, compassionate and caring health center I have ever experienced. I see Dr. Rodriquez who is excellent as a gynecologist oncologist and his team runs like a professional team of experts who have a common goal of treating you as they would have themselves be treated. Communication to you is outstanding and is a priority as they deliver top class medicine to you. You are not a number here, you are their very special patient.

  • Disappointing, frustrating app

The app is poorly organized. For example, when a text message arrives indicating new information from your health care provider is on the app, there is no way to tell where the information is located. No “new messages “ area. Just multiple locations where various notifications show up. Yes, each area will indicate that there are unread messages, but the system is set up to send a message every time I burp, it seems. Necessary messages get lost in the confusing layout of the app.
An added frustration…there is no “share” menu. I can’t send pdfs of statements and “paid” status on bills to my printer or as email attachments for insurance reimbursement. Very frustrating.
On the plus side, I like that I can see appointments, after-visit summaries, and test results. It sure would be great if the app were arranged for the user, though. The user interface really needs serious redesign.

  • New App

Generally speaking the app is quite good. I would have appreciated a heads up on the logo change. At first I thought I had been hacked. I would also like to have ALL appointments just listed under the appointment tab and not down several layers making it impossible to find the appropriate tab unless you know where to go

  • Missing many important features

    1. When going to Billing section, it won't let you print a bill, which is incredible! I had to switch back to the paper billing options so in the future I can easily check my bills.
    2. When browsing the appointment history, it doesn't give you any filters, which make it very difficult for the users. For example if you got a physical therapy treatment and had 12 sessions, then every time you want to check a future or previous doctor appointments, you have to scroll down pages to locate the right one.
    3. In the Messages, you can't track the conversations by doctor or date.
    4. Then the Test Results. Same thing. Would it be more user friendly if it lets you search them by date range, doctor, or more importantly by the test category? For example it would be a nightmare if I want to compare my lipid panel reports in the past three years.

The developers have done good jobs but the are too many missing parts there.

  • Why can’t I book with Swedish providers anymore?

I wanted to book an appointment with a new provider that my doctor recommended, who is in the Swedish network. I get an error every time I click to search for Swedish providers in the “find care” menu. I found I can’t even book my annual physical with my existing doctor, shown as my care team on the app, who coincidentally is also part of Swedish. So one of the features I really care about, being able to book appointments online, is now useless.

  • Best pain relief…..

Dr. Shah has continued to work on my spine pain diligently and effortlessly. He continues to be patient (pun on words intended) with me when I am definitely not at my best. It is easy to whine and cry, sometimes scream a bit, but how can I possibly give up when my doctor seems to have boundless energy - working with me just since August and achieving remarkable results. Thank you sir.

  • Limited

I’ve been using this app for many years now. At first it was really good. I could make appointments chat or message my doctors and follow up on test results. Very useful. Then my primary care physician left the practice and they assigned me a new one. From that moment on, I couldn’t set up appointments with my new primary care physician and I couldn’t communicate with them either. I called technical support to try to resolve the issue and they told me they could not do anything because the process of adding a new primary care physician is automated. That way it works is after you schedule a visit with your primary care physician they will add it to your page so you can see it. But you can’t communicate with him until you’ve had actually completed your visit. Given the state of this repair at Northshore healthcare systems nowadays if you need an appointment, you have to make it a year in advance. That means I will not be able to communicate with my doctor via the app until a year from now when I actually complete my appointment which is been scheduled for months already. So, as long as you have no changes to your healthcare team, this app works fine. Once you make any changes, it is essentially useless.

  • Labs

The teams are efficient The appointments are right on time, providing you schedule correctly!
The results are fast and complete

The problem is the new reporting format. It’s a mess and so very hard to read quickly and efficiently. And the pricing is 3 X more expensive at NorthShore labs than anywhere else.

In addition they always come up with some kind of co pay no matter your insurance. The billing office is in Minnesota and they are rude, short and unable to explain anything in understandable layperson language. They also double bill paid invoices regularly and can’t explain how it happens. I’ve caught 6 mistakes in the past year. It takes them 3 billing cycles to make the corrections.

After 40 plus years of loyalty to NorthShore I am considering leaving. Many of my doctors have left as well. There is also a “quiet quitting “ epidemic taking place.

Get your house in order, the new management team is going to drown the golden goose if changes are not made. Yes you are probably more profitable, but you are dying a death of 10,000 cuts.

  • What a nightmare

Having medical issues and tried to call my Cardiologist. No response in a week. Called again, said they’d get back to me. They said if they don’t just call my GP. Called my GP could not get in for 2 weeks. Scheduled an appointment with another Doctor. Got confirmation for appointment and it was a new client appointment. Went on the app and found I can schedule an appointment today or tomorrow. What ever happened to customer care?

I have just spent 15 minutes trying to come up with a nickname that I can use. Unbelievable it just keeps getting worse.

  • I’d give it 0 stars if I could

For YEARS I’ve been waiting for their programmers to WAKE UP! Do they even use their own app? This is only 1 example: Recently I was asked to fill out a rather lengthy pre-visit questionnaire. When I reached the end I was to verify my identity by putting in my birthdate. The format indicated was MM/DD/YYYY. The area where you entered information was auto filled with today’s date of JUN 01, 2023. Strange, the formats are not the same. Still I clicked in the area to complete the information. A calendar popped up. You are forced to use the calendar to go back DECADES to fill in your birthdate. You cannot fill in a numerical birthdate. And when you finally arrive near your birthdate…. There’s no DATE. Only the month and the year are possible to select. Ok… So you select that. It plugs in the month and year (eg. JAN 1973). Then the systems says basically. Sorry this isn’t you and deletes your information from the questionnaire. Then for an even bigger laugh the systems reminds you in a few days you still need to fill out the questionnaire. This is only one example of the disasters we’ve experienced from their “programmers.”
