  • Worst Sign In on Internet

    What sort of idiots set this site up? Even their links to reset password do not work. Just what is going on? Even their name is not thelocal, it had in the past come up
    Under tiny pass. But now I do not know. This is a very poorly run website and I will not recommend it to anyone. Be aware you will have issues.

  • Does not open

    Paid for a subscription, download the app and it does get past the loading screen. Rubbish.

  • Restricted to one country now

    This app was far more useful before the update. As a paying member I now have to choose only one default country for news. If I want to switch to news for another country I have to login again each time. I don’t want to be forced to deal with that paywall. That’s why I pay for a membership.
  • New version is a disappointment

    While new version of the app seems to work better technically (no random blank pages as before) - it removed a major convenience of the old app: the ability to see content from multiple countries all together. I live on a tri-point of 3 countries and it was very useful to me to read news from all countries on one screen. With the latest update I have to manually switch every time I want another country.

  • Not great. Stick to the web version

    Signed up to the local (es) for a year, and use a we browser to read it which is fine. Tried the app… massive disappointment, one had to wonder why they even bothered. Ditto on all the problems people have had here. Forget trying to put it on an iPad as it’s formatted for a phone only. Altogether very poor, not great. Stick to the web version of The Local

  • Awful - Don’t waste Time Downloading

    Links from newsletter give blank pages, unable to select language edition, unable to login, etc, etc… Completely untested and has no functionality so have deleted. Thankfully I don’t have a current subscription. Don’t waste your time and effort with this app.

  • Brilliant BUT Delete old and Add new

    You need to DELETE old one and ADD new one rather than update
  • Expecting great content… once it works

    Updated, and now featuring a frozen image on the opening screen. Not possible to get past “Select Edition”. A pity, as the content on their site (and previous app) is really good. Looking forward to it being fixed.
