  • Just use the website

    This app isn’t even functional for me, yet the news provided by the local is top notch. I recommend just using the website in safari.
  • Great resource for English speaking topics for Europe

    The app works fine as does the website and most links. Articles are super helpful and tailored to learning about a variety of European countries. My family used the info for a longer trip to Switzerland and Austria and the content was timely and informative. The staff promptly returned my inquiries and I just extended my subscription to a year as we coordinate more travels to these countries.

  • App issue

    The articles posted are very useful and have been a big help though the covid period. The big problem is the app, it doesn’t load consistently and always asks to log in.
  • Good Information. Terrible App.

    I believe that The Local must spend all of their money on reporting the news and none of their money on their app. It functions only as a web browser. No saving of stories. No search function. You are better off using your mobile browser-even with a paid subscription. Don’t bother with this app.
  • Terrible ui

    I paid for a year’s subscription. But when you log in, there a huge immovable button at the top of the app’s screen daring me to log out of my member account. It’s almost inevitable I’ll hit it by accident and then I’ll have to go through your interminable email-based verification scheme - terrible in its own way.

  • A great news site, not a great app

    The Local is a great service for anglophone expats in Europe, but it actually works better on a browser than with this app. The search widget is unusable as it is overwritten by a “member sign out” button. Not all the stories that appear in the browser appear in the app. Reader comments do not appear in the app.

  • Fix. Your. App.

    The app is just as bad as the website; I literally can't even pay to subscribe because it just keeps looping back.

    How are these guys still even in business?

    Seriously, they need to drop everything that they're doing and get their software together. Otherwise, what's the point?
  • Fix the login problem!

    The content is great and totally worth paying gir but c’mon, fix the bug that makes me re-login every time I want to read something! Note that it says I am logged in, yet throws a pop-up to offer me a subscription or ask me to log in instead. 🤷🏼‍♀️
  • Paying but can never log-in or read

    The log in system on the app matches that of the website…pretty worthless. For a paying service, I expect to not have to have a code sent to my email & re-register every time I want to use the app or website.
