  • App always crashes when viewing past orders

    Sainsburys you’ve got to fix this! I can’t scroll through my upcoming or past orders without the app crashing. I am using the latest iOS too. It’s very frustrating!
  • Usability

    Since your last app upgrade (something to do government health requirements) to the online ordering app for home delivery, I haven’t been able to use it.
    On line ordering had been a very good means of doing our home shop since Covid, and had become more important to us as we’ve grown less mobile. Now I can’t login to find out how good the app might be.
    It won’t load onto my iPad because iOS14 requires more storage and my iPad is now 8 years old and the S/W, although automatically upgraded, cannot be upgraded any further.
    Your upgrade notice suggested that it should be possible to continue using your older release by pressing ‘download’ to use it. However despite many attempts it didn’t ‘Download’, so last week I placed our order by telephone and subsequently added to it by telephone. Inevitably there were misunderstandings on a fairly big order of about £90 which is our average, and it was more difficult to do and less efficient.
    This week I’m going to try using your website from my desktop but it is far less convenient, otherwise I have to buy a new iPad at over £500 or find the equivalent ‘on line order/delivery process’ from another supplier.
    I’m far from happy with Sainsbury’s at present but your young ladies who helped me over the phone have helped to rescue your reputation. Your IT department need a nudge.

  • Fantastic app since updating it

    I have been using sainsburys online shopping for over 7 years now but it was very slow and didn’t always have all the information for certain items especially new lines. I haven’t done a shop in sainsburys since before covid and in October 2020 I moved from London to a very small village with no shops in Cornwall and sainsburys didn’t deliver to me so I had to use one of two supermarkets that did but on the 5/4/22 I moved to Liskeard in Cornwall a bigger town but still with only 2 supermarkets in it 1 that delivers and 1 that doesn’t well I’m fed up with the poor quality of the food I am ordering and us arriving short dated more than half of one order the fresh items were dated that day or the next and I’m just a single woman with a cat who wants the fortnightly shop to last the whole fortnight I end up having to freeze things so I went onto the sainsburys app which told me an update was available which I downloaded and when I checked thankfully they deliver to me despite my nearest branch being about 5 miles away so I placed my order and even found some nectar points wirth £7.50 I in the coupon folder that I’d requested ages ago but hasn’t been able to spend so I’m treating myself too a hair dye and providing my order arrives Wednesday without drama I’m very happy to be a sainsburys customer again

    The app logged me out a month ago and Then haven’t been able to use it since!

  • Out of date food

    Usually sainsburys is good
    I know they always advise of close dated products.
    But today in my delivery I actually received English muffins with Best Buy date of April 11th and today is April 12th

  • Delivers shopping to old address, can’t remove from account

    This app is a nightmare. I regularly order a shop delivered to our home and usually it delivers to our home address which is saved on our account. However this week the app has decided to revert to a previous address which we haven’t lived at for over a year. I’ve tried previously to delete this address and got an error message saying ‘problem deleting customer address, try again later’ but I’ve set our current address as the preference in the app. Despite this our shopping today was delivered 250 miles away and consequently I have a house full of hungry guests. When I called to ask for assistance with this issue I had a rude woman tell me it was basically my fault for not deleting previous addresses, and checking my address preference every time I use the app. I shouldn’t have to check that the app hasn’t changed my delivery preferences every time I use it!! There is no rhyme or reason to it as I order once a week and normally it uses my current address.
    I’m going to spent my £500+ a month somewhere else I think.

  • Hardly works

    It’s ridiculous; can’t seem to ever get the app to not say “encountered an error.”
  • Checking out and site navigation very poor

    I find it impossible to check out in the app, I have to go to the website which makes the app pretty useless. The multi search option has gone once again have to return to website. Navigating the website on an iPhone is not that easy. Why do I have to put my delivery option (use side door please) into order every time I have not changed the geography of my house every week, if I do I will change the delivery option. The other large supermarket beginning with a ‘T’ has an excellent app, you should check it out!
    Why do you issue an online voucher when you can’t supply an item, the supermarket beginning with T just refund and it comes off your bill. Why can’t Sainsbury do this?.
    Has anyone in Sainsbury got an iPhone? obviously not, but if you do find one try to navigate either the website or the app. Very difficult. Lurches from website not adapted to iPhone to one that is, just sort it out!!

  • I love the App

    I switched from Morrisons to Sainsburys deliveries during lockdown for several reasons. The App is easier to use being one of them. It’s easier to prevent substitutions if you don’t want them. It automatically adds the delivery slot to your calendar so you don’t forget about it. It’s easy to change your order, add or remove items. And finally, your favourite items come up first on a search. It is slightly more confusing to try to change the delivery slot after you’ve placed an order, but I have got the hang of that now. All in all, I’ve shopped using the Apps of most of the leading supermarkets but I find this one the clearest and easiest to use. I don’t have problems with spinning circle (spooling) as per Dragonheart’s review and I’ve never had vouchers for another shop instead of a refund. Indeed one one occasion an unfortunate accident with a broken seal on a milk carton caused milk to soil the packaging on several items which I was refunded for even though the items themselves were unharmed (but needed to be used very soon!). The delivery drivers are pleasant and helpful and observe covid protocols and they always show up on time. The delivery slots are cheap and available, even at short notice! Overall I recommend Sainsburys and I recommend this App!
