  • lost favourites, no multi item search, no comments

    The app has lost most of my favourites. I used to have around 400, now there are just over 100, many things I buy every week have gone. There is no multi item search anymore. This used to be good but is now limited to one item at a time.
    The worst thing with the app is you can’t make a comment about a product, e.g. “only slightly green bananas (not fully yellow)” or “must have at least 7 days before use by” on milk.
    The worst thing about Sainsbury’s online shopping is our current source shop (Swadlincote, I believe) keeps sending items which are off before their use-by date (e.g. raw chicken covered in bacterial colonies); orange juice that was not sealed, leaked & (presumably because it was not sealed) was already off on delivery; milk that was a date over its use by on delivery (delivery 20th August, use by 19th August); items such as whole milk to substitute semi-skimmed presumably because they thought fair trade was more important to me than type of milk (repeatedly despite being informed about it). I asked to change supplier but was told they couldn’t do that. We have had other suppliers (fosse park, Nottingham, etc.) with whom we have had very few problems. We are now considering changing to one of Sainsbury’s rivals. We’ve given them plenty of opportunities to improve but they don’t. There is obviously a real problem with food hygiene & date compliance at this shop.

  • Terrible App

    Awful app, took about twenty minutes to reserve a slot, kept saying “something went wrong, try again” when I finally came to check out that was just as painfully slow. All in all it took about 2 hours to do a relatively small shop which would have been quicker going to the store in person had I not had a leg injury and was unable to drive. I used to use Ocado years ago and that was way more advanced even back then. It’s actually put me off Sainsbury’s given that some of the fresh stuff when it arrived had an use-by date of next day. Won’t use their online shopping again and probably reluctant to shop at Sainsbury’s again given the poor service. The delivery person was friendly and efficient and on time which I can’t fault. However the rest of the experience was somewhat frustrating.

  • Not easy to navigate

    Can't clear search for product. If you type in one product you can't erase and type in another product to search. Needs to be easier to navigate don't like the app

    Wouldn’t verify payment. Don’t know if my housebound father will now receive his order tomorrow or not...disgraceful
  • Fab little app!

    I have switched from shopping online with Asda to Sainsbury’s and the Sainsbury’s app is much better to use!
    Firstly, (and this is such a small thing) the loading icon that is used, loved that it was a pumpkin over Halloween and now it’s a spinning mince pie! Keep adding new loading icons they are a giggle! Its also really easy to change and update my order, it’s shame you can amend the substitute options within the app and you have to do it on a desktop but it’s not a huge biggie (but may earn you 5 stars if that could be changed!) I like that it shows you “green delivery slots” to make you aware who else is having orders delivered within the area so they can try to reduce their carbon foot print (👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻) the recipes along the bottom are great too, would be fab if you could add the recipe food items to your basket within the app instead of taking you to an external web page but the next time you go into your order in the app from adding items on the website they are there and it’s all synced! Lots of product info in each item and images of the food, and it always tells you when you checkout what’s not available and what substitute they plan to give you so you can decide there and then if you want it or not!

  • Always crashes

    App continually crashes and orders need to be completed via the website. User details are no longer recognised and I also now need to login every time I use the app. It’s definitely more of a hassle to use the app than the website.

    Way too slow to download info. Off to another site!

    Most of the times slow and unresponsive. Completely useless most of the times due to the really bad response times from their server.
  • Terrible app

    Terrible. Crashes at least two or three times every time you the it on. You can search for something as simple as "beef" and have the reach generate nothing -- it just goes blank! The Tesco grocery app is way better. I just switched over to Sainsbury's to try it for a few months and the terribleness of this app might convince me to switch back to Tesco after my delivery plan is over. I use mobile apps almost exclusively to do my grocery shopping and this one really wastes my time.
