  • Simply Superb

I don’t go out of my way to write reviews unless an app really stands out - one way or the other. This one is well thought out and well executed. I’m now easily able to get precise weather metrics not only at the house I’m at but the one I’m not at. Well done.

Update - the negative reviews simply must be a result of user error, as simple as this system is to use. I’ve had it installed for several years at two homes and a boat that cruises on the Great Lakes, and each installation has multiple sensors. The boat installation has to be considered hard on the system. Nonetheless the ONLY problem I’ve had is I had to clear a spider web from the aspirating fan on one of the 5 in 1s. I take note of the reviews of a related software product, Under the WX. This would be of interest only to those with a SERIOUS interest. All the reviews? 5stars

  • Great app ... but

This is a great app, and I use it every day. I have never had a problem with it, and it connects well with my 5-1 weather station. My only wish is that we could have an Apple Watch App to go with it. I really think a lot of Accutite & Apple Watch users would welcome that.
  • 5 in 1

My system had worked great since I bought it a few years ago. Suddenly the rain gauge is not working. When we do get rain it doesn’t register any rain at all or only registers minute amounts. Tonight for example, we had a downpour for a half hour but the 5 in 1 only reported 0.06”. I replaced the batteries in the unit a few days ago but no improvement. Any ideas what the problem might be?

  • SUPER AWESOME APP!!

This app is so freaking cool! I've had it three days so far and I'm being blown away by all of the features!!
The other day I figured out that you can tap on a dashboard item (i.e. Wind speed) and it'll open a graph page. That's neat. Just tonight I clicked on lightning after the storm went through. Then I just found out that you can zoom multiple directions. Up can pinch zoom vertically AND horizontally!! That is so gosh darn neat!!

  • Very Disappointed

I am sorry to say but the AcuRite products and app are very disappointing. I have tried to use them for many years. The weather station never stays “connected” to the hub. Therefore, my data collection is useless. I have tried working with their Support, which too is disappointing. I have upgraded to the newest Hub and newest Atlas station. Neither work. I followed all troubleshooting, replaced batteries multiple times, rest hub, etc. Still, nothing is connected.

Going to look into Davis Instruments. More expensive, but rock solid.

  • Flakey

The ability to see data thru the internet is really flakey. Will be running fine for weeks then the no signal message starts up, particularly when there is an Apple system upgrade. Very frustrating experience.
  • Killer update

Had my Sumter for over 3 years and worked great. I also feed in to Underground Weather with no problem. Since the last update my app will not update any readings and have a red low signal on both my weather station and lightning detector. Signal strength is good on both my weather station and lightning detector. Would of given this app 4 stars but now give it one since there isn’t much testing before they do a update and now I’m stuck with all this equipment and out a lot of money!

  • Alerts could be smarter, charting could be better

I use the temperature sensors to monitor my refrigerator and freezer temperature. The alerts work well except I wish we could have the alert be a little smarter to allow you to set a threshold on how many sensor readings it takes before the alert is sent. Right now is anyone opens the fridge door my alert sometimes goes off even if the door was shut and was on the way of recovering.

I also wish we had better control over the charting to allow you to zoom in more within the hour, etc.

Hi Jmc2000, Thanks for your review and suggestions. We'll pass along your suggestion for alert improvements to the development team for future consideration. You should be able to use pinch to zoom to zoom the chart on the charts page to see more data if you're looking at a chart that is less than 3 days. Charts more than three days are limited to the daily high and low. Hopefully, this helps get you what you are looking for. If things still aren't working as you expect or have other suggestions for how we can improve please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team.
  • Pretty good app, but needs to offer IFTTT support.

App is pretty good. Has a couple things that could be improved, but my main gripe is they don’t have support for IFTTT so you can trigger other connected things as a function of temp or humidity (like turn in a humidifier if the humidity dips below a set percentage). This would be relatively easy for them to add I would think.

Charting beyond 31 days would also be nice, not sure why there are options for a year and “all time” if it can only chart up to 31 days? Similarly, why not let the user choose if they want to see actual time-based values vs high/low values in multi-day charts?

In summary, some seemingly simple changes would make the app a lot more powerful.

Update: the response on the charting from AcuRite has been that option beyond 31 days is there to access record data. Seems like it’s an opportunity to improve the intuitiveness of the interface. Until I read their explanation a few times I didn’t even realize record highs and lows were stored for longer, because the device only stores all datapoints for the last 31 days. That seems like a bit of a silly limitation as well.

Hi ClarksonCote, Thanks for you review and suggestions we'll make sure they get passed along to our development team for consideration on our road map. For clarity the year and all time options are present so that you can see the record values for those time frames even though the charting isn't available.
  • OK weather monitoring, networking useless

I have had several Acurite products and they do a fair job. The 5 in 1 works well transmitting data to the 2 monitors I have.
I purchased an additional monitor with PC Connect so I could view the data on my phone.
After spending an hour and a half trying to set it up, and going through all of the troubleshooting instructions, I finally gave up. It simply doesn't work.
I was never able to get data from the unit to my computer and upload to Weather Underground.
The only thing that ever showed up was 'Sensor not detected'
It is not worth the work, aggravation, and hassle.
Will be looking at higher-end systems from other manufacturers.
UPDATE: Thank you for the response; but, at this point, I have already wasted far too much time and energy trying to get it to work and don't have it in me to go through that again.
