  • I want to love it so bad

    I have never been compelled to write a review before as much as I did for this app. I saw the 2.5 rating and thought it really can’t be that bad. But, it’s all true. The selection is okay but the worst of it is just the UI/UX within this app. FF/Rewind moves like molasses. The Apple TV app doesn’t keep me logged in - I have to log in daily. It lags constantly and the quality drops then resumes. I attempted to watch Kinky Boots for a date night and we were troubleshooting half the time. It’s truly not worth the subscription despite how much I love Broadway. Please, please hire some developers who can resolve these issues.

  • This is not a review of the service

    I love BroadwayHD. There is so much content and I was very surprised at how fun it is to watch most of the musicals on a TV. I thought not being live would spoil the shows but I was wrong. Quality is all over the place due to different ways the shows were captured but big musicals like 42nd Street are stunning.

    That being said, the app is extremely primitive and archaic with not even basic search functions, chapters or scrubbing which means if you want to watch a particular number you have to start at the beginning and FF ahead with the 2X FF. So if the show is 2 and a half hours long, you can see the finale in only 1 1/2 hours of fast forwarding.

    I was going to cancel but decided to try to access the site on my iPad in FireFox and it worked! Eureka.

    You should really just pull this pathetic excuse for an app and tell people to watch using their browser.

    I can now start a show on my iPad, skip to the section I want to view, pause it and close the browser. I can then use the app on AppleTV and select ‘continue’. Problem solved.

    But really, how ridiculous is that? (Spoiler; EXTREMELY ridiculous)

  • Don’t get a subscription for this app

    I bought a monthly subscription for Broadway HD. After I got the subscription I realized that there were barely any shows on the platform so I decided to delete my account. No matter how hard I try it won’t let me delete it. it says I have the wrong password or email when I know I don’t because it makes you log in every single time you open the app so how could It be wrong if I had just logged in a minute ago. Then it takes me to an unavailable page. Do not pay for this ap!

  • It is ok but it is not worth it anymore

    They said that they are adding new shows every month but there were a couple of months that there were no new shows that were added. As of February 14, no new shows were added in the month of February. So why I am paying for it when they said “New shows added every month”? Don't get me wrong, I love BHD but it is not worth it anymore.

  • Not worth it anymore

    I’ve been a subscriber for several years. I’ve gotten tired of the constant buffering and skips in playback. The final straw is the fact the app will no longer recognize my Cromecast and I am unable to stream to my TV. It’s no longer worth my time or my money with the recent price increase.
  • Poor Selection, Impossible to Cancel

    What even is this selection? Approximately 2% of these productions are quality and the rest are either budget, knock-off productions or blurry, homemade-feeling recordings?

    And the best part: I CANNOT CANCEL THIS! The app doesn’t work and errors off when I try. I am throwing away $12/month right now.

  • Awful Streaming

    The app is one of the most ridiculously difficult to navigate. Every time you click a title to read about it, the category will start at the very beginning if you go back. Constant buffering, constantly makes you sign in and out, and it seems to randomly decide not to stream half the content. Categories also don’t allow you to scroll all the way down, but rather only to see the first couple line items. Lastly, the content itself is tired, boring and not changed out nearly enough.

  • Not bad

    I love having the ability to watch musicals and whatnot that I wouldn’t otherwise be able to go see live. However, the streaming service buffers WAY too much and it absolutely ruins the experience. My other big problem is that the list of shows on there is pretty lacking. None or the new productions like Aaron Tveit’s Moulin Rouge are on there and neither is Anastasia, which is what I desperately want to watch. It’s just not worth the money when I can’t watch any of the productions I’m really really interested in.
