  • Useful guide

I’ve only just started using this app but the experience so far has been positive.

This might not suit as a detailed travel guide but if want an ‘executive summary’ of the key highlights of a destination, this does that very well.

The many, my travel plans have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic but I’ll certainly keep us f this for extra help and ideas.

  • 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

The app is easy to navigate, completely free, includes lots of content and one can explore cities in terms of things to do (guides, art, music, film & tv, books, lifestyle, food & drink and places to stay). You can book things directly from the app which is an added bonus.
However, the downside to this app is that there are some glitches in the ‘top picks’ where a random experience from a random city will be in the article.
All things considered, you get a lot for a free app.

  • Much better than crowdsourced alternatives

A well curated collection of places.

One thing missing is maps. If you find a list of ‘ten beer coffee shops’ you need to click on the map for each one (which often crashes the app anyway) to see if any are near you. I’d rather be able to see a map with pins for all the spots on the list, so I can see what’s near me and go from there.

  • All you need to know in one place.

My husband and I love to plan our own trips and travel independently, and now on Culture List I can find everything I need to know about our destinations to plan a perfect trip. Plus I can save all the info and also download guides to read offline while on the go. I wish I’d found this app earlier. Love it!

  • The Most useful travel app

This app is so amazing if you want to experience traveling and living like a local ( which is how it should be). I have been living and working in Europe for the past couple of months and this app is my number 1 go to for finding new thing to do/ places to stay in the cities I travel. Please don't stop updating this app with cities and recommendations, my travel experiences wouldn't be as good without this app and it's wonderful features.

  • Fabulous App

So much info to digest. Really helps to organize your trip before you leave! Love it!!
  • Offline mode doesn’t work

Great idea for an app with high potential but a very basic and important feature ‘offline mode’ doesn’t work which renders the app not so useful. For each article there is an ‘offline mode’ download button, but it still requires you to be connected even after downloading an article. Is this a bug? Pretty sloppy development.

For travel in less developed countries with patchy internet or rural areas this is a seriously important feature.

  • 2 major problems

I live in a touristy area and wanted to get a feel for how accurate the info on this app is. The article about the top 10 restaurants was outdated. One of them hasn’t existed for 2 years. Also, the descriptions were misleading. For example, the diviest dive bar at the waterfront has fried food and pizza and attracts an older locals crowd. We are talking age range mostly 50+ and they are mostly townie bar flies. The article described it as the funkiest place in town and talked about the food like it was part of the draw, which it isn’t. it’s a townie drinking spot with bad live music when they have it.
Also, i clicked on another article that said my town and state. it was all about another town with the same name but in a different state.
Clearly this app is not well maintained or monitored. i wouldn’t trust it.

  • Some great articles

Whoever that Jon SAN-something or other is, he’s written several informative articles about Tianjin. We’re in China for a month and I completely forgot how frustrating it can be to get information when you go behind the firewall. It’s why I love China (my own version of camping and getting away from it all), but also makes performing simple tasks a bit tricky - like a google search. Culture trip has been great for information on things to do as well as addresses written in English and Chinese. Thanks guys, you’ve been lifesavers in keeping our holiday fun and stress free.
