Recent glitches

I’ve been using this app for over a year now and i love how convenient it is, however over the past few weeks i’ve had some problems. when i click on a bus stop for times of buses it would say “no upcoming arrivals are due” but when i restart the app it shows the times fine? usually i have to click on another stop on the same route to get an estimate time. on a few occasions when waiting for a bus, the app says that the bus has passed the stop when i know i didn't see it go passed, just for it to turn up 5-10 minutes later. i know that these apps can’t be 100% accurate, just hope these issues can be resolved in a future update to make using the app easier.
EDIT: I keep getting logged out of the app at the worst of times usually when i'm about to get on a bus, i go to open my bus pass and it's saying i'm logged out (i never manually log out) then i sign back in, wait ages for it to load, usually have to close and restart the process twice since it buffers for so long. this has actually cause me to miss buses because it takes me too long to log back in, i won't buy another ticket if i have a weekly already thats the point.

Semi-good

It used to actually be bang on a few years ago, but had recently got to the stage where I’m having to leave a review. I appreciate I’m biased from using it for years without leaving a review

However, some key points:

- wiped my week rider when I had a blip in my mobile data. The complaints department refused to compensate me for the end of week £2 journey I had to make as a consequence of this.

-live bus tracking at current crashes the app, preventing me from seeing where my bus is on an actual map, just an ever changing ETA

- doesn’t take into account literally any contextual event that may affect your bus journey. Road works that the council have planned for months and there had been signage for week? Enjoy a lengthy detour without a simple change in their ‘dynamic’ route mapping service

- no access to or acknowledgement of local authority service level agreements on timeliness. It would have been great to know in advance that the closest stop to my house was not a ‘rest stop’ and that if a bus as 5 minutes early, it would not pause here. Instead, I would have to walk 5+ minutes to the next stop to inevitably miss the bus. I’m unsure how hard it is to understand a standard speed/distance/time calculation

Overall, okay as an indicative idea of when the bus will come. However, the same indication can be given by route times at the stop (if Nexus ever updated these)

Time waster

Missed my bus more often than not due to the awful communication on this app, the app will tell you your bus it late, when turns out it’s already been and gone 10 minutes ago, either that or it’s been cancled with nothing telling you till it’s already too late. Writing this review because it’s just happened to me again on a Sunday when the bus times are hourly, 3:31 bus was “due” I got here at 3:29 and the bus was gone, but the app still has not even recognised the fact the bus has even arrived yet and the “due” time is just getting later. Also tickets bought on the app 9/10 just completely disappear once activated, no matter how much I refresh my app or check for my ticket it’s just gone only way I can get it back is to wait which is a bit shocking considering I’ve activated my ticket to get on my bus Now not later 🤦‍♂️. Worst thing is not a whole lot I can do about it considering the card machines never work for contactless and every time I use cash I get a cash voucher. Full of Misleading Data

Used this on a rainy afternoon in Edinburgh. I wanted a bus from near Greyfriars Scotty to Ferryport. It proposed several buses, but when we got to the bus stop it announced that service had not yet started. Instead we used Google Maps and walked 14 minutes in the rain, but a bus showed up as predicted. The app told me the fare for 2 would be 23lb (Uber was only 25lb), but the actual fare was only 13lb. I’m really glad I didn’t buy a ticket though the app and pay nearly double!

Terrible app and even worse service!!

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Until I started using Stagecoach I’ve never experienced buses constantly going the wrong route AND direction, not turning up or driving past the stop earlier than expected!! I live opposite 2 Stagecoach bus stops so I’m familiar with the incompetence. I was late for the first day of my new job and had to get a taxi because the bus never showed up at all!! I was waiting for 30 mins before I decided to get a taxi. For medical reasons I can’t drive and there is no train station near me so I have to rely on Stagecoach who are the most incompetent and unreliable of services.

The app could be better. The live tracker always lags and the buses disappears most of the time or you can’t even track buses at all. For the amount I’m paying for Stagecoach you’d think I’d get some good service out of it but I’m left disappointed every day!!!

Can’t Buy Tickets

App won’t work for ticket purchases. Repeatedly fails to go through. Not a reliable means of transport if buying a ticket isn’t guaranteed first time, every time.

Stagecoach bus app bugs in app fixing

The stagecoach bus app is usually quite good when it works but sometimes the bus doesn’t show up on the app and the data on the app sometimes doesn’t keep synced with the bus tracker. Bus trackers need updating constantly week by week in order for the bus tracker data to keep synced for the bus to show up on app. When the bus is late the app keeps on crashing from time to time which is a bit annoying and frustrating as i relie on it to work everyday during the week. The bus timetable sometimes doesn’t show up either which is a bit strange. It would be nice to see the app working every time despite trackers decide not to responding sometimes with the app which needs to be fixed asap if possible.

Also bus pin point position not accurate in app when it should be showing on app every day.

Unimpressed

App won’t allow Apple Pay?! Seriously what is the point. I hate using PayPal for this. Also my buses are never on time, rarely on the GPS, and frequently canceled.

Not that user friendly

The app is not that intuitive to use. For example when you search a journey, the bus number is very small. Not good for old people who use the bus.

When you use the live map, to see where buses are, your journey planner search is immediately forgotten and then you have to fill it in again each time you wanna see and check up the time of the particular bus. Furthermore, the live map doesn’t really make it clear which bus is on which scheduled arrival tone. Given that customers would obviously like to check between the location on the map and the bus time frequently wouldn’t the following be better:

For the particular scheduled bus shown in your search, you should be able to go into that one and see it on the map, highlighted gold among all the other buses. Then you can know this is your bus, and you can see how it’s doing in relation to other busses. Is the one after or before perhaps more suitable? You know. And you should be able to see this with the scheduled and expected time. This is just common sense for this age of technology.

Yet we have this strange app design where you can only look at one and then if you want look at the other it’s a faff on to switch.

POOR SERVICE POOR APP

I would give zero star if i could. The bus never punctual , million time delay and cancel, my best record is sitting under freezing weather for 2 hours as 2 bus are being cancelled while other cars on the road have no issue?! The app is crap, the real time tracking is a joke, the bus always disappear or appear from nowhere. You could never get right estimation on when it arrive so never take bus if you need to arrive somewhere on time. The driver always leave earlier than promised time that they written, so basically you have to arrive (not on time )but at least 5 mins earlier, but you would need to expect that you end up wait 15mins more as they are late. You got no compensation for any cancelled and delayed bus so never buy monthly ticket. (And the price is crazy) . I have no choice as it is the only option for communte to my work location so get other option if you do. As i heard from other people who use to commute by bus and end up can’t take it and buy a car, this problem as lasted for more than 10years. Stagecoach you better keep the £2 single ticket cap forever as your service does not deserve more than that.
