Why change?

Update: some bus routes just aren’t shown anymore, it’s like you don’t want people to actually use the bus!!
Previous worked great. Told me what bus is in my area and how long until they arrive. New version either doesn’t load, won’t recognise my location and tells me there are no buses in my area when I am standing at the bus stop. The planner doesn’t work, only recognises the locations it feels like. And the live map is regularly 10 minutes behind real time, when it works at all. I want the option to use the old app that actually worked instead if this jazzed up waste of time. Updated: ok so you tell me your live map is “fixed”, just got my morning bus. Map said 5:48 expected 5:53....showed up at 5:50....does not live track as before, it’s an estimate, I’d be late if I followed it, your app is now no more reliable than a printed timetable and journey planning is easier in google maps

Ok could be better

I have recently updated to iOS16 and I have found the app stopped working. I couldn’t use live maps to see when the bus was coming or buy any mobile tickets. I have had to delete the app and reinstall to get it working again but I shouldn’t have had to do this. The app could be better if it showed you the bus cancellations, sometimes it does but not always. Quite often I have been waiting for a bus that the app says is coming but doesn’t arrive. I don’t have Twitter so it’s not really feasible for me to go on Twitter to check the cancellations and I can’t rely on someone who has a Twitter account to check them for me all the time. There are some pluses to this app I can buy mobile tickets and I can check the bus times easily and the live map when it’s working as it should is really good. The app has potential to be really good.

Great App awful service

If I were just reviewing the app then I would give it 5 stars all day long. The rating for the service they offer would be 1 star. The bus will be late 90% of the time. My daughter uses the bus regularly for a 9 mile trip to school and back. She’s quite often left waiting for a bus for 30 to 40 minutes in the cold and the rain. You can see the bus not moving on the app a mile away not moving. Occasionally they will put their out of service sign on as they pass the school kids . But you can see on the app they then stop to pick up other passengers. When we looked at the school Stagecoach had a stand there and they told us how they would provide a reliable service and look after our children. I have complained to the help desk and promised a reply but have never had one and when I ring back they tell me that they have closed the case . Stagecoach you are running a dreadful service in the Eastbourne Hastings area and don’t deserve the contact.

What the hell did you do to the app?

On previous versions of the app you were able to flick between the different facility screens i.e. purchasing tickets, live map, planner journey etc. but now on this updated version you are unable to do that! If you buy a ticket you can only view the ticket. I’ve tried to delete the app (several times) and reload it, but still you can only see one screen. Have reverted to buying paper tickets on the bus and having the tracking app only. Would be handy if the developers could take a look at reinstating the ability to flick between tje different screens for using then now almost useless app!!

Broken!

Well, you broke that didn’t you!?! You state an update was released to fix it, did you forget to publish to the App Store? When calling customer service to complain the recorded announcement stated “only a few people are affected”. Just the whole of iOS, so “just a few” then!

You also say people should screenshot their ticket and email for a refund, when they are stuck on another part of the app and can’t get to it then that isn’t possible. We register with our email address to use the app so you know what we have purchased.

I got on the bus and asked for a card to get a Megarider and was told to go to the bus station which isn’t on my route. I asked for a Megarider on a paper ticket and was told you don’t sell them on paper tickets. I will be purchasing Dayriders and claiming the difference back from you.

The app has been broken for over a week now and I am not sure how all this runs in a big top circus and drivers with size 15 clowns boots and a clown outfit to to drive in as they are just as bad with their attitude.

For those wondering what to do if you can’t show a ticket then don’t worry, Stagecoach policy is if you can’t show a ticket or can’t afford to pay then they still let you on and that’s official! Start costing them money, it’s the only thing management listen to, because they don’t care about customers! It’s about time the monopoly was broken up.

Now unable to use

Previously I was able to view the live map and see my bus coming towards me, then go into the get ticket drop down for my ticket to show the driver. Now the drop down menu has disappeared so once I am in the ticket screen I am stuck there forever. I have deleted and reinstalled the App numerous times and it still isn’t working so I’m sticking to the live map screen and going back to paying cash or card on the bus, not ideal as it was great before, other than on some phones (Samsung) it shows a cancelled bus in red, whereas I’ve never been able too see any cancelled buses (Apple) so end up waiting in the cold and dark late at night not knowing my bus isn’t going to turn up. I think the App would be brilliant but unfortunately it is no longer working for me.

Doesn’t cache your tickets, shows wrong times for journeys

You’d think after paying £20 for a ticket, it would be able to track whether or not that ticket is valid, and only require a daily refresh of its authenticity to minimise network usage. However, if you’re out in the middle of nowhere, with no network reception or WiFi (which the buses don’t have either by the way) then your purchase is basically useless.

The live journey planner - arguably the most important part of this app to get right - doesn’t even show the right times to set off, or for when you arrive. Instead, it prioritises buses and the company over the customer, and shows the times of the bus departure instead - violating almost every design convention travel apps have had in this regard, and leading myself and several others to be late or stranded in the wrong direction.

This app needs a lot of work. It’s quite unfortunate I’m stuck using it for now, or else I would go elsewhere, but they’ve monopolised the routes from my house to work - so go figure.

New app update

This new update is a bit of a head ache- the other version showed how many minutes were left until the next bus would arrive which was excellent and pretty accurate - the new update has completely taken that away

The new app has a visual to show how far the bus is but it lags and It has to constantly load - id prefer it if it also had an option to show how many minutes it took for the next bus to arrive alongside the visual one that the update provides.

Also the last app just gave us the option to type in a service number (eg. 142) and we could shortcut to that bus whenever - this version only allows you to add a certain bus to your favourites after bending over backwards to find it - and the times/ locations given are all over the place/ crowded and confusing.

The last version also saved your address/ most used routes and it was easy to access the same timetables/ bus arrival times. This one is a bit all over the place.

Really disappointed in this new update - I’m trying to find a way to download the old version as my phone automatically updates the apps. I appreciate the effort given - the app does look a lot nicer but shouldn’t be at the cost of really amazing parts of the previous version.

I hope this changes in a future update as I use this app multiple times a day.

New app design is awful and needs correcting

This app used to be really useful but since the recent massive update it is not. The layout is much worse and finding out when buses are due is now a difficult task even though that’s one of the main uses for it. The old design of the app was fine and much better than this.

The old design was useful as it would show how many minutes the next 3 buses were going to be but now it just shows the next bus which seems to be less accurate now and means I cannot plan ahead as well as taking me forever to find it. The bus times don’t actually seem to be live anymore as the bus usually arrives about 5 minutes later than it says which didn’t happen that much with the old design.

Many people have the same complaint as this has somehow made buses more inconvenient and another reason out of a very long list not to use buses.
