Great app
Was very apprehensive about downloading this app. Downloaded and didn’t use for weeks because I didn’t want to pay for it. Ended up shelling out the money, and it was well worth it. Has a ton of filters. The possibilities are endless. I’ll admit, I don’t have a photographers eye, but it more than provides the results I need. Okay, but overpriced
Carbon has some nice options and it’s fun to play with, although I wish you could add favourites to the B&W filters as scrolling through so many and trying to make a comparison of a few is tedious (compared to Hipstamatic). However I won’t be renewing my subscription as, since this seems to be becoming the default purchasing model, I have to make choices and it is very expensive for what it offers. If you must subscribe, try for a month and then decide if it’s worth it. I went for a year as I love B&W photography and I regret it.Show lesslmvl
Great app - needs a bit of improvement
Really intuitive, phenomenal filters and photo editing capability. I only have three requests to make this the perfect app: 1. Raw support for import/export. Right now images are compressed on export. 2. A brush tool for dodge/burn would be great to really draw out the best of b+w and 3. A warp tool would be awesome. Filters look OK but impossible to try out
Based on the sample photos, this looks like something you want in you for photo app toolbox. But starting with the demand that you enable notifications, and ending with the upgrade requirement for EVERY filter that looks promising, it’s a giant “meh.”
People, let me give it a test drive, if it’s good I’ll pay. Let me try everything out but maybe only for ten photos. But this app hates the user way too much. Sticking with LR thank you.Show lessEurofrosty
Good App, Poor Customer Service
Whilst Carbon excels in providing black and white tones, it’s customer service is rubbish and leaves you seeing red. 3 times I have reported that the family share element is not working, primarily brought this app for my daughter and she still can’t use it.

Get me excited, please.
I think the term ‘pay-wall’ is misused a lot. Many apps offer you a great service and then offer an enhancement on that same service, at a price. I’m cool with that as I understand money needs to flow to create an experience we’ve learned to love.
This is NOT the above, this is a true pay-wall... Every second click in this app costs me money and the endless baiting game of ‘click, disappointment, back. Click, disappointment, back...’ is infuriating as I’m trying to enjoy a serving that at least starts me on a journey of creativity.
I’m no stranger to enhancing my own experience in-game or post-shoot, but this is one crazy pay-wall I’m just not prepared to invest in before enjoying even a basic experience.

Hands down, the best b&w photo editing ap.
I have been through tons of b&w apps and Carbon is the first one that gives professional , quality results. I absolutely love all the presets and tools. Edited photos are crisp and dramatic. The ap is also VERY user friendly. The hashtag feature is the cherry on the cake. This editor is worth every penny. Highly recommended.Show lessHopedj

Best BNW filters out there
This app provides the best top quality BNW filters out there. I don’t have any of the other filter packs that you can purchase. However, the small price for the expanded full collection of BNW filters is so worth it. It has made some not so great photos out of camera look AMAZING. Love this app!
I have used this app for a long time and loved all it has to offer, it’s so much more than just the black and white!! The amount of filters and the fact you can adjust their opacity is terrific. With textures and overlays it’s well worth buying all the options. I love the borders feature and how easily you can customise a border. Woke up to an update yesterday with the bonus of a new Canvas feature, which I believe is in testing mode at the moment - the great news is it works and is terrific! I post photos to Instagram and if it is not a square shot I like to put it on a background canvas and this new update allows you to create that in a huge array of colours and with the option to give a 3D effect.
