Mediocre app. Great company, great taxis and drivers
If I was eating the drivers it would be 5 star. However this is an app rating. It’s clunky and leaves pop pups in the way of key functionality. A big “cancel ride” sign stays on top of taxi location for example. Also you are asked to enter CVV every single time if you are out and about without cards or cash.

Great journey
Very friendly chatty guy
Quick discussion about which way I wanted to go. Guy was bang on the money.
We had a crackin chat in our fairly short journey 10 mins or so.

Great for a taxi bad for GDPR
This app doesn’t allow you to opt out of receiving marketing notifications from them (in breach of GDPR) I emailed the company and got the reply “ When you download apps notifications do come through. The way you can stop this is to go on your settings on your phone and select the app and turn off notifications. You can always turn this back on when booking a taxi.
I can confirm it is not illegal to send promotions etc through an app that you have chosen to download. We are sorry to hear you do not want to know when promotions are on. We send the promos to notify our customers when we have good deals on our app just to keep them informed.

I’m afraid that isn’t quite the law. And i want my notifications on for when i order a taxi i don’t want constant spam marketing ones from you several times a week tho.
I replied advising how she is wrong with 1. The app stores rules on marketing in notifications and 2. GDPR law and referred the case to the ICO and Apple to look into. Maybe instead of ignoring your complaints your add a little ‘opt in/out’ option for marketing material via electronic notification.
And reply to complaints emails too. One reply out of three emails doesn’t exactly show you are a reliable taxi company. Thing is. You are usually. Just bad management of customer data unfortunately.

Review
Disappointing as usual. Most drivers in a constant rush they don’t know the roads nor the area. Drive too fast and then brake hard. A most unpleasant ride. Always arrive early putting you under pressure to get in the taxi

Been using Lynx for years with no problems
Feel I wanted to balance out reviews when the ratings show that vast najority of people are happy with the service. I use them fairly regularly for airport and train trips and they are reliable, keep me up to date on progress and offer good value.
Smooth and efficient service. Thank you
This was my first time using the app, and it was a really smooth and hassle free experience. I was able to add my credit card to pay and pre book my taxi for an early morning journey the following morning. Great price compared to Uber too. I’d definitely recommend

Easy app, only thing I’d suggest is allowing in-app tips. I wanted to give the driver 10% for being so nice, but unlike Uber app, I couldn’t. Also, I couldn’t seem to see the driver’s name anywhere; would like to know the name of the person I’m driving with. Other than that, I prefer Lynx over Uber.

Avoid they let you down last minute
We ordered two taxis for 5:30pm and arranged them at 4:00pm earlier that day, the radio controller took our postcodes of where we were going to and from. We waited for the taxis and received two text messages to confirm our taxis were dispatched. Then a further text to confirm location and track them. At 5:35 as we were expecting the taxis to show, we received a call to confirm the taxis would not be coming and they do no cover Manchester City centre. The company advertises themselves as a Manchester local firm to the city centre. Clearly this is not true, they also didn’t call prior to let us know they would not be coming until after the time we had booked them and spoke quite rudely when cancelling. Awful customer service which made us late for a booking.

Avoid - Generic App with Bugs
This is a generic app various taxi firms license to run an Uber style local cab service but don’t be fooled, the result is a “poundshop” Uber experience. The drivers are friendly enough but will take you where they think you want to go rather than what you tapped into the app and charge you accordingly. So unless you already know the area you’ll get stuffed. I ended up being charged £20 for what should have been a £5 ride because the driver either hadn’t been informed by the app or because he thought he knew better.
However, the worst aspect of the app is that you can’t update the ride details so you have to cancel and rebook. That would be fine if it wasn’t for a glitch in the system that then declines your card.
Don’t believe the fare that the app shows either because the cabs just run a meter that significantly inflates the quoted fare.
There are better apps so don’t use this one.
