  • Awesome Addition to the Topps Family Of Terrific Apps

This app is great !! I have been a huge card collector for over 30 years and Topps has always been my favorite!! Upper deck owns the physical rights to Marvel’s non-sport Card sets but now we are all able to appreciate the designs and incredible quality that ONLY Topps can bring to an entertainment product!! I am also thrilled to hear about the upcoming Disney app that Topps has announced maybe these releases will lead to a potential physical release in the future!! Thanks again Topps for taking one of my favorite entertainment licenses and making it easily accessible and collectible for people of ALL ages!!

  • Had potential, money buys all the good cards

I’ve been playing the “game” for 2 months now. I loved collecting cards as a kid and when I saw this game I downloaded it for myself and my son. I want to preface this review; I have no problem spending money in a game when it’s worth while. My son has 50+ Fortnite skins... In this game you spend money to get diamonds, which then you can use to guarantee that you get one of the super rare cards. I’m fine with that concept, except they don’t limit how many packs each person can get! You’ve got the whales who will buy up 10-15 of the rare cards literally within the first 10 minutes of them going on sale and they sell out in an instant. Then they want you to trade half your collection for the card they just bought. It’s a flawed system and I’m tired of it. Too hard to scrape together the “good cards” if you don’t time your life around the exact moment the cards release. And today; they released a very exclusive Guardians of the Galaxy set, one I gladly would have spent diamonds on, but because of a flaw in their system it wouldn’t even show me the packs! And I actually happened to be on right when they were released!!! I’m tired of that sort of non-sense, I’ll be moving myself and my son onto another app. It had so much potential to be fun, but ends up just being a cash grab for the fans that will spend $100s or more a month to get digital cards and lord them over the kids.

  • Good app, but... a bit elitist

I love the idea of digitally storing cards. Obviously, it’s lot cheaper than buying real cards that will leave your wallet empty. However, while getting cards through collecting coins is easy if you have patience, it cost money to buy gems, which then purchase card packs. The packs bought with gems have a higher rate of getting better, rarer cards that you wouldn’t be able to get with regular coins. The “elite” part of the app is quite apparent, even going so far as to include profile pictures only gems can purchase in the latest update.

  • I’d give it a 5 but

Needs lots of improvements. Which I don’t blame because it’s still fairly a new app but I see lots of things that could make it better.
I’m an 80’s kid so I’ve never done the whole digital thing with cards because I grew up collecting the real deal but I figured I’d give this a shot for nostalgia.

    Overall I think

One can you guys at least make us organize our cards better in the collections tab. I would love to organize my cards properly at least, especially if we’re paying money for these cards to own.
Two where’s the stats or little history of the card on the back of them? That would be awesome to add as well.
Three can you make at least a decent more amount of the super and rare cards for those who aren’t fast enough to buy them or can’t right away when it’s announced or on sale? I figure we all can’t make the sale due to priorities and all or were to busy trying to purchase diamonds only to come back to all cards sold out.
Overall love the app and hope to see more great features and great cards.

    Thanks MARVEL Topps!

  • Need a better way to trade

Trading is a pain. Everyone puts up comments like base dups for base needs. The problem is there is no way to see what they need. So when you send them an offer most of the time they already have those cards and decline your offer and no one seems to take the time to do a counter offer. You should be able to easily see what they need just like you can see what you need. Also when you initiate a trade it is a shot in the dark if they even have the card you are looking for. Needs improvement.

  • Fun but not great

If you liked the marvel cards from the 90s with stats and character history then these cards are not for you. I would rather less base cards and have more meaningful cards that can be read. Collecting base sets is fun for a bit. Inserts are basically pay to win loot boxes, so if your going to chase those bring your wallet. Also it would be cool to get some recognition and coherence for the art that is used on the cards. A large portion of the X-Men die cuts for example are by one artist and the tonal shift between his and other artists makes the set feel disjointed.

Also the community on here trading can range between genuinely good people to some of the most toxic people I have ever encountered in a game.

  • Where’s the info???

I think it’s an awesome concept however I was a little disappointed. As a kid in the 80s and 90s I loved collecting the Marvel card sets. I had four complete collections of different year releases. When I saw this game I was ready for some nostalgia. I got through the tutorial and was excited to see my first cards. My favorite part about the cards as a kid was the power ratings and bios on the back of the cards. Imagine my disappointment when the app allows you to flip the card just to find a generic backing. No info, no stats, no bio. Without that, what’s the point of collecting? Please, please consider amending the app to include the bios and such on the back of the cards. It would make the game much more fun.

    Update:
The developers are very courteous and professional in their responses to reviews. I was very impressed with the way they answered my questions and I’m looking forward to seeing the improvements made to this app as it progresses. Giving four stars for such a great customer service experience.

Hey there, I remember these too! I even still have some of my old X-Men cards from when I was a kid. Take a look at our Marvel 101 set. The cards some info about the characters they portray, and I think they harken back to some of those cool collectibles we used to have as kids. We'd like to do more sets like this in the future, and there some technical hurdles that we need to clear first, but it is something we're interested in doing. Why don't you send us some more details at marvel@topps.com? We'd love to hear some more feedback, and a chance to earn a better review. At the end of the day, we want you to enjoy using Marvel Collect! as much as we enjoy developing it. Thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback! -Nathan/ToppsWebster
  • Too pricey

Please integrate some kind of system that makes it so people can only buy the card packs that cost diamonds where you get a guaranteed card one time purchases. Because people always buy like 10 of the same card and then the prices it costs to get the card via trading are near impossible to match for free to play people and people who don’t spend hundreds of dollars. Please please do something about this because I know many people who have been turned off by this game for that exact reason. It’s not friendly to free to play people.

  • Good but please read.

This app is very fun. The cards are something Quidd doesn’t even have, however the lack of notifications when someone sends you a trade, or when someone counters or accepts one is hard to believe exists. You would think that’s the standard thing to do. That and there should be messages between players, get rid of the gems and make coins the only currency, you can even buy coins if you want. Another thing is the fact that you can only look at the back of the card and the front and swipe to check another one. You should be able to pull it and hold it wherever you want on screen. The last thing is something that needs desperate fixing. The navigation of the app is probably the worst part, it is incredibly confusing. I would say change some things up you’re good. That’s it, I tried to list literally every problem the game has. Of course it has bugs but everything does. Hopefully I get a reply, if not thank you for your time 👌.

  • It’s decent

You can’t really progress much without spending money. Almost all sets require you to spend money weekly. And the player base on it is no better. Everyone is filled with greed and is constantly asking or refusing trades unless you overpay. And in the most recent update they took away our numbers next to our dupes of cards so now it’s harder to distinguish which cards you have dupes of and which cards you don’t. The game could be better I enjoy it a lot but it’s like a weekly subscription almost. Nearly every week I’m dropping at least $30 in order to keep up with my collection. And don’t get me started on the why don’t you just trade for other people’s cards so you don’t have to spend money. It’s easier to buy the card yourself then trying to offer a fair trade to someone who doesn’t want overpayment.
