App is terrible

Didnt show the battery level on app and the cushion is too tight they need to be bigger

Keeps getting worse. Experimenting with its customers

After a major redesign that removed several features a year ago, B&O suddenly starts making random interface changes that make little sence and make it less intuative. On a monthly basis you can expect some older products that previously worked fine to suddedly lose more features. It seems they are making changes internally and just releasing them without testing it properly. Even when it works at its best the app takes foever to launch. B&O has great hardware but software has always been their weekness.

Slightly better but still issues.

Why ruin a perfectly good and functional app? I’m sick of these companies trying to simplify everything, they must have a low opinion of their customers to dumb things down this much. The update has basically removed setting option for the beosound stage like if it should upmix or separate the bass signal. If your thinking of buying the beosound stage don’t do it until they restore basic functionality.

Edit: upmix and virtualise have been reinstated but the sound profile defaults to “none” every time you change screen in the app or change it. I would say they have 50% solved the issue of an app that used to 100% work before they broke it.

Buggy

This App like the products B&O sells looks great. Unfortunately the app and the beosund A1 version 2 speakers I have create nothing but frustration.

The app keeps forgetting my saved products and everytime I try use this app to stereo pair my speakers, I get horrible crackling sounds. I have since deleted the app and manually pair the speakers every time I turn them on. Frustrating but at least the sound is good now.

Flawed excellence

The sound of the A1 speakers is excellent - as is the feel of quality. Unfortunately, the software does not rise to the same heights - Ive had two of these speakers for three years now & its been one problem after another with pairing them, keeping them paired and simply having them work as advertised. Last year it was a problem with turning them off: with no detectable reason, one of the two would refuse to power off at the end of the evening. Following all of the online advice available, to no avail, I simply had to let the offending speaker run out of power (- nearly a week if they were fully charged!) before it would accept any input.
This year its simply pairing the two speakers at all….it cant tell the difference between them. When attempting to add the second speaker (for stereo pairing) it switches the output from the first registered to the second (while still referring to it as the primary speaker) ….& the app simply states ‘theres a problem’ when trying to get it to see two speakers.

From a premier product I expect better - I have speakers costing 20% the price of ONE of these speakers that works perfectly each and every time I fire it up. Come on B&O, you can do better than this!

Unreliable

Very difficult to operate and to depend that any sound will come out even when connected

Version 5.8.1 will make me sell my B&Os

I have absolutely loved my Beoplay EX Buds until today. I live and work around a lot of fan motor noise (not wind noise - I’m talking about the noise of fan and air conditioning constantly in the background in my office and car) and until this release, my Beoplays were incredible at erasing that noise and giving me a sense of listening in a well-tuned, noise dampened room. The peace they provided made them among my most valued possessions. Release 5.8.1 is a giant step backwards. I hear everything around me - including the fan noise I used to be able to cancel. I’ll be dumping my Beoplay EX Buds if they choose to remain on this release very long. I’m so tired of companies selling you on a certain capability, then degrading that capability with forced upgrades - it really is a bait-and-switch business model. I expected B&O to be above that.
