Tried to use credit card

Would like to update expiration date,etc. Staff didn’t know how and the app not helpful.

Order never received by cafe.

Had to leave for a show after waiting 20 minutes after promised time.

Easy to Use

What I like the most about the app is that it’s easy to use. I generally go to the store and simply use it to pay, and occasionally order in advance. I have also taken advantage of promotions and like the simple stamp system way more than other reward programs. So simplicity and ease of use would be my reasons to give the app the top rating.

Poor Experience

There is a major disconnect in-store. Baristas often do not see the orders come through so the time estimate is almost never correct.

In addition, the app doesn’t save your most recent order - slowing down the speed at which you can order.

The coffee is still good tho!

Cool beans

Very good app, much more useful and user-friendly than some other coffee shop apps. Doesn’t hurt that Caffé Nero also has wonderful lattes, so I use the app rather often.

Staff are not helpful, just witnessed an elderly lady trying to lift a tray of hot drinks off a high counter while three young members of Nero staff stand watching her!
I myself having to go back to them as things missing off my order,
Nero Gateshead metro center ( upstairs)
2 members off staff being trained and the acting manager off clearing dishes, they had no clue what to do! My coffees were made but my food that needed heating up was still on my try, so I said I would call back when they were done, I put coffees on an uncleaned table then went back for food to find they weren’t done so I went back to my table had a few sips of coffee then called back for the food to find toastie left on the side of a table and my all day breakfast was left in the microwave, both were cold by the time I got back to my table! I complained to the manager but she just said “ I have staff being trained then gave me a free coffee voucher, not acceptable Nero’s.

Apple Pay, please

Ideally, you’d seamlessly accept Apple Pay through the app.

But short of that, please allow me to use Paste from the clipboard when entering my credit card number. I prefer to use my Apple Card where I can and you can’t scan an Apple Card with the camera (no numbers printed on the card). I can quickly copy the card number to the clipboard, but the paste command isn’t available on the alpha-numeric keyboard you display. And yes, I’m too lazy to write down the number and transcribe it myself (but I am willing to spend far more time complaining about it!)

Btw, when entering the expiration date and the CVV the app displays a numeric keypad, but the credit card number field displays the full keyboard. Wouldn’t the numeric keypad (with the paste button, of course) be more appropriate? [Sorry, I used to work in QA.]

Terrible app declines orders

Bad app. Don’t hVe option to say “simple syrup” for drinks, how if they have it all the time. Also, instead of turning on mobile ordering for stores. They just have it get declined but don’t notify you. So you show up to store and they don’t have the order

This keeps happening every time I order via app collect more recently. either the store switched off the option to do it even though you’re outside and it’s not busy. Other thing that really bugs me is you wait for them to accept your order it takes over in five minutes and then suddenly it’s declined this has happened to me twice I was inside the store last time it was only two people in the queue. I was in the store by now and my order was declined and I was refunded. While I stayed clear it wasn’t busy but the staff looked stressed. I use the app is because I am on a hurry and also not wanting to sit is due to covid. In short I had no time I had to leave with no coffee. The whole process from order to being declined was about seven minutes. I could see staff looking at the till and I was standing at the mobile station. This is frustrating because you can’t speak to the staff as busy serving.
