  • Computer parameter language bugs make playing the game a “crapshoot”

The iPad version of Civ VI has been my go-to version of the game, and I’ve loved it… until recently. As of December, on many of the key menus such as Governor appointment screen, Diplomacy screens, and many more, strings of text have been replaced with parameter text that make it impossible to determine what is going on. Am I voting for or against something that will give me a boost? What does that Governor promotion do?

Please fix this issue - it’s rendered the game unplayable.

  • Major Bug Still Not Fixed

The last update introduced a LOT of new bugs. Many governor’s promotions are replaced with text like this: “LOC_GOVERNOR_PROMOTION_…”. There is no text telling you what the promotion is, so you either need to guess or look it up on the Internet. Same thing when talking with foreign leaders. They still haven’t fixed it.

  • Don’t buy the DLC.

Though it says it is compatible on iPad. It is difficult to actually download and install all of the DLC. The company, Aspyr, offers very poor product support. And in 2 years has yet to effectively fix the inability to efficiently download the added DLC content.

If you doubt me just preform a quick Google search. Regarding iPad and the DLC content. Then if you decide to give them money it’s your now informed choice.

Too bad it’s a good game too. Just not on iOS mobile.

  • LOC_**** (bug)

Ever since the latest DLC half of the descriptions for governors, world congress, etc have displayed strange text holders with LOC_************** instead of intended typed making the game hard to play since I can’t read what I’m doing. Broken is the fact that I paid for the latest DLC for extra leaders and it broke my game. I’ve spent $60ish dollars total for a mobile game and this last “DLC” totally broke the game and no update has fixed it and it’s been months. Fix the descriptions and I’ll update the review but it’s total crap I paid to break the game.

  • Suggestion

Right now Reconnaissance type units are pretty bad, no one builds them after early game. And that’s quite awful since they play such a big role in real armies. So maybe we can fix them by introducing a new game mechanic.
Currently in civ6 they can only be one military unit on a single tile, and they can be seen by every one given said unit is in their sight range. This makes “ambushes” impossible since the enemy can’t “walk into”your units.
However, we can give military units a ambush button.
Basically, once activated, said unit disappears from enemy vision altogether, and allows enemy units to share the same tile as them.
Once they did that, all their remaining movements will be lost.
For example, you notice Gandhi is massing troops to invade. you can take 3 archers and 2 warriors and place them on the path his troops will likely cross . And when his 3 knights walk into them. You can really hurt them next turn with archers and possibly foiling his plan.
And this is where our lovely scout comes in. Reconnaissance units will have the ability to see ambushing units. This way they will certainly become a irreplaceable part of any army.

  • Updates should fix, not create problems

This is still a great game, but since the last update more glitches have appeared. Mainly the descriptions have some type of coding rather than the actual copy. Quick fix needed.
  • Love this game previously—- but expansion wouldn’t download

I have always loved Civilization, and up until recently I had no trouble with anything. A few days ago I bought the New Frontier Pass and it got stuck on Downloading 0%. I went through the troubleshooting steps and nothing worked. I finally deleted and redownload the app, and now every add on and expansion is stuck at Downloading 0%. I put in a ticket for Aspyr customer service 3 days ago and still haven’t received a response. Apple has refunded my purchase … hopefully this will get fixed soon and I can try again. But for now I would seriously avoid purchasing this product.

  • I think people complain too much

It’s a mobile version of a pc game made for processor only devices, no gpu and while CPU’s are getting better they’re nowhere near pc. With that perspective this game is a great addition to the franchise.

No computer game will ever be perfect. I broke MS solitaire once. I’m happy with the ongoing development and content releases.

  • It has become unplayable

I love the Civilization series of games, especially Civ 6. But the updates in December have really messed the game up. Descriptions for events and wonders are gone, replaced by some programming language that I don’t understand. If you don’t know what event you are voting on in the World Congress then how can you make an informed decision? How can you decide if you want to build a world wonder if you don’t know what it does?

I can’t recommend that anyone buy the IOS version of this game unless the developer fixes this problem.

  • Expansions don’t work properly

What’s the point in spending several hours competing and creating your civilization if you cant read what you are voting for in world congress? You cant read anything its all html on top of words, how do you release something like this and take our money? Apple did stand by me on the lack of quality & provided me a refund, thanks Apple!
