Fix the barcode scanner
App is ok except for the barcode scanner to earn rewards. In order to bring the barcode large enough to be in the “box” to scan, it will not focus. Moving the phone farther away is in focus but so small it won’t scan. No other app on my phone that uses camera to scan barcodes has this issue. Just the Slims app. It needs to dynamically focus. Should be a very basic concept for the app developers but here we are. It’s been this way for months…
Also, please stop this nonsense of linking “app support” in the App Store to the main website where you have to hunt for support. Just make it a link directly to a contact form or email. It’s as if you don’t want your users to report issues or ask for help. So rather than digging for a contact form that will go to the restaurant and not the developers, I’ll leave a review instead.

Working it out
They been open for about 2 weeks maybe. From what I can tell the drive-thru only is open right now. They had someone walk and give menus for folks in line to look at before they need to order and to let usknow they were short staffed. Lines were long. The staff were all very positive and nice and trying the food for the first time it’s fantastic. I can’t wait until they work out all the kinks but if you have time to wait in line it’s worth it and if that’s something that’s going to frustrate you than wait until they are completed up and running.

I really enjoy the atmosphere of Slim’s
I really love dining at Slim’s it’s our family’s favorite restaurant. The chicken tenders are amazing and I personally love the cayenne ranch dressing with them. I also love that they have some jar desserts with yummy cheesecake inside (especially the Reese’s butter cup one) but for whatever reason they decided to take that off the menu. I don’t think that was a good idea because I could drop hella a lot of money on that instead of lottery tickets but again that’s something that they need to figure out. Anyways I highly recommend checking out the place. It’s really cool.

A few suggestions
The app design is good and generally loads fast provided you have a stable internet connection. No complaints with the restaurant itself. However for the app I have a few suggestions for the developers to make the app better:
1. The camera takes WAY too long to focus when scanning receipt barcodes. It’s not the phone’s fault because other apps recognize barcodes before I even get it centered in the frame. Today it took me almost 2 minutes before finally getting it to recognize the barcode.
2. Allow side upgrades in kids meals. You can choose between the “basic” sides but sometimes my kids like to upgrade to the okra or fried mushrooms. I’m willing to pay extra and you can do this at the register but not in the app. Also the app doesn’t honor the kids meal discount on Sundays.
3. Add a place for comments for to go orders. Sometimes you might need an extra fork or something but there’s nowhere to put that info.
4. For the “app support” link in the App Store, please direct this to a destination that can actually facilitate support for the app, not the company’s main website. The whole point of an app is convenience, and having to navigate through a corporate website to find help is in my opinion the lazy way out. I know a lot of apps do this and I give them the same feedback. Provide actual app support via the App Store. The slims contact form doesn’t even have an option for app support.

Slim Chickens *because the chicken portion is slim*
Ate at Slim Chickens for the first time just a few minutes ago. We were excited to try it out and even willing to wait in the long drive through line. Once we received our food we all regretted not going across the street to the Asian restaurant. The chicken strips were so small and skinny at least the waffle was some substance for our hungry bellies. The two chicken sandwiches we ordered were a huge disappointment. The bun was literally twice the size of the chicken. No joke the 3 pickles that were touching under the chicken Patty stuck out further than the chicken did. And they put way too much seasoning on the fries but we ate them. $32 later and my kids are still hungry.

Frustrated Frequent Customer
Tonight was extremely frustrating in the drive thru. The person taking orders asked. E for my order then switched to two other people’s order in another lane. I came inside and asked for management. Lisa came to defuse my frustrations, apologized, and made me feel so much better!! I’m grateful and so should you be for a sweetheart of a manager who went the extra mile to make sure she took my order and made things right!!

So worth the wait!!!! Run don’t walk there for an amazing meal!!!
I have been waiting months to finally try this place. I am a self diagnosed chicken wing and chicken tender connoisseur! I placed an online order and it was quick and easy. I was told my order would be ready at 12:30pm (prime lunch time traffic) when I arrived, the parking lot was full so I went through the drive-thru. Not too many cars, but when I pulled up to the speaker and told them I had placed an online order and gave them my name, they told me my order was ready and it was unnecessary for me to wait in the drive-thru line. I looked behind me and I was stuck with cars behind me. Not even 30 seconds later I hear my name being called and they ran my meal right out to me and the folks in the line let me out. I was in and out of there in les than 3 minutes. When I finally dove in it was amazing! The tenders were so good, the wings were so good and so were the fried mushrooms and don’t get me started on their sauce and the gravy!!!! I will be back there so soon!! Such a great experience!! 10/10

Slim Chickens Lakewood Ranch
Visited Slim Chickens in LWR today for the first time and had an awesome experience.
Delicious food & super friendly staff combined with FAST service! The manager/owner, Tommy made us feel extra welcome by stopping by the table to get to know us and our two kids!
Our 11 year old said as we were leaving “this is even better than Chick Fila and PDQ combined!”
Needless to say, this is definitely going to be our new regular spot!

3 easy fixes
The barcode scanner doesn’t work, you can only submit one receipt a day, and getting restitution for them making your order wrong (when you ordered it correctly) needs to be fixed. it is 2023. other apps have these features. is it convenient to be able to order online? yea. is it nice to have a rewards program when their food is EXPENSIVE for no reason? yea. but that doesn’t justify problems that should be easy fixes.

Thought I would give it a try
Tenders were delicious! Employee that took my order in the drive-through was very patient and good at his job. He had a recommendation since I had never tried anything before. Great food and great employees equals a winning combination. I will definitely be back.
