  • Great app and great support

Since the last update, this app has a massively improved interface so is even better at letting you find all the cool ways to control the attached light strip.

Also I had to contact the developer for some help with a problem and the response was really quick (even over Christmas). Even better, they were able to guide me to the exact cause of my problem and how to fix it.

    Excellent support, couldn’t be happier.

  • New version is much better than the previous one

  • Whoa

These lights are great. Bright enough without being overwhelming to the eyes. The ease of setup cannot be easier. I’d suggest for anyone new using these lights is to screw the lights in first then add via the app to make it easier and spend less time waiting for the light to respond. I have several and the smart plugs to work well together. I also label my boxes to which room I have the lights in and the smart plugs. Thank you for this product and the latest update to the VOCOlinc makes it well worth it. Later.

  • Even Better!

I already found the app to be quite good. It gave complete control over all aspects of your smart device. Great! Now, they’ve made the user interface MUCH more clean, streamlined, and easy to use. I’m liking the new look. Pretty cool.
  • Can't Complain

Sorry to read that other reviewers had problems with this – albeit a while back. My experience, admittedly only with VOCOlinc devices, was faultless. I quite enjoyed exploring the app and seeing what it had to offer. Some of it was slightly less than obvious but I'm game for pushing buttons and seeing what happens! Am quite used to it now and quite impressed, too. Didn't have to create an account or log-in via another platform. It just worked.

  • Let me save you some aggravation...

At first I couldn’t add my VP5 outlets. I kept getting an error that said something like ‘invalid accessory’. It had to do with HomeKit. I never used HomeKit before. Google home was where I controlled my devices. But VOCOlinc seems to utilize HomeKit as a primary function, and if you can’t add it to HomeKit either through the Home accessory or through this VOCOlinc accessory you can’t add the device at all. So no google home either.

The solve: Rename your Home from the default ‘My Home’ to something else. After I did that I was able to add my outlets, and then link those outlets to google home. It was so simple.

I hope I saved you the frustration I went through trying to add my devices.

  • App Needs Tightening

    APP
The app isn’t bad. It interfaces with HomeKit well enough. I understand why it requires that the user grant it access to the Home Data, but if they deny it (as I do by habit for any first request for resource on my phone) the app offers no warning, and then if they attempt to access the User button in the lower right, the app crashes.
It should warn the user when they decline access, and anywhere that would require that access should check, then remind them.
Crashing just makes the app look bad.
    Fail gracefully.

Lastly, I have a badge displayed on the app icon, but in the app nothing indicates why or what is causing it.

    DEVICE
I understand only supporting 2.4Ghz for lower bandwidth needs, but it shortens the potential distance. I would prefer not to be required to purchase repeaters just to support these.

  • Incorrect update Notification on HomeKit

Very annoying that HomeKit is reporting that I need to use this app to update my Koogeek light strip when they are nothing to do with that company
  • Cannot use the app

When I click on account, the app crashes. Impossible to link my device.
  • Hostile App

Used product strings of competitors to advertise their app on Home.app
Unable to remove notification of firmware update
