  • This app is amazing!

This app is so great! I learned Hiragana in one day because it is so fun to do so and easy to use. I have been looking for an app that you don’t have to pay for subscription for and this is the one! It’s really well designed and easy to use! It makes studying the characters not as boring too!
  • Some things you can add!!

This is overall a great app! It’s really easy to use and there are little to no adds! There are some things that U can add to make it even better though, the first being tips on how to remember the way you write it. When I started out, I struggled with the last part of the a (the twirly part) and the o. When someone fails it 3 times, there can be a pop up of tips to remember it. Idk if I’m picky on my way of learning Japanese, but you could also add reviews before tests (Ik there are practices). Sorry if I’m being picky tho. These aren’t exactly NEEDED but they can make ur app a lot better. 👍🏻

  • Amazing Resource For Beginning Japanese Learners

I love this app! It’s a great tool for newbies wanting to learn how to read basic Japanese, including Hiragana and Katakana. I practice a little bit every day and have it down because of the app. Love how it gives you the option for practice and testing, which includes both written, and multiple choice. Very helpful. 10/10 recommend 😄👍🏻

  • Good app.

I like this app which use while I use Duolingo. I will comment though on the main screen. There are too many choices of hiragana and katakana. It would be nice to have an option to choose either one, then choose which 5 characters to do. Also I found when doing 5 characters the screen resets to the top and not where I left it. Would be nice if this didn’t happen. Other than this, I am happy with my purchase. I have been after an app like this for a while and totally forgot to check the App Store, DOH.

  • ?

Why hiragana is overcomplicated, but katana is easy, I learned a, I, and u. The “a” in hiragana is completely complicated, I stil don’t know how to write hiragana but I recognize hiragana, autocorrect is annoying but helpful, message to u (Kon’ni hirashino)
  • AMAZING 🌟

This app has helped me learn all the from hiragana — katakana!!
I can read out letters fast enough to speak full sentences ,although this app will not make you fluent if your learning all the bit and pieces of Japanese, but it probably the best Japanese FREE learning apps I’ve ever seen!!

    HIGHLY RECOMMEND 👍🏻

  • Effective, and nicely done

I simple enjoy languages. My main focus has been on Chinese, but after reading Shogun for the second or third time I became interested in checking out Japanese. Well I found it difficult learning and remembering how to recognize and write Japanese UNTIL I found this app.
It is very nicely done. You can learn at your own pace in small chunks that let you achieve real mastery.

  • Amazing!

I’ve been taking Japanese for about 6 months now, and at the beginning I was struggling to get a hang of the hiragana and katakana. It took forever to memorize the characters, and at that time the app I was using didn’t show me how to write the characters. This app honestly helped so much, I definitely recommend it for anyone learning hiragana/katakana, or just anyone who needs a refresh on writing characters. This app got me to the point that I could read and write hiragana and katakana characters without thinking about it. I highly recommend this for anyone learning Japanese!

  • Best hiragana/katakana learning app there is

I have tried them all, and this one is my go-to. The auditory, visual, and touch combination is perfect for me and I’m learning much faster than I thought I would. It is very easy to navigate and well organized.

It functions very well as a free app, I appreciated that the ads were not at all intrusive. I decided to purchase anyway because I prefer it so much.

This app is set up well for optimal learning. I like that each lesson set includes the diacritical marks that go with each syllabary. Lends to a good sense of learning pace and takes the pressure off having to learn the diacritical marks separately.

I like the review option. It is easy to locate and there are options within it to control what you’re reviewing. When I discovered this, I realized I didn’t have to use a bunch of different apps to help me retain what I’ve already learned.

All in all, I highly recommend this app for learning hiragana and katakana.

  • Absolutely love.

This is a great app to learn kana, especially if you have a tablet and a stylus, since it really tries to get you to write the kana properly. The free version is fantastic, but it’s also super affordable if you want to buy the premium ($6.99. One time, not per month.) The premium is NOT needed, and I haven’t gotten it yet but it seems like it’s just a bonus. Highly recommend.
