Doesn’t do what I need it to
Perhaps I should have better read between the lines.
This app uses machine learning to help users eliminate ‘visually similar’ images.
I guess this is good for people that have a relatively small/ new photo library or a well kept library and looking to trim a few photos here and there.
What I found disappointing is that it fails to eliminate excessive exact duplicates in an automated way.
My photo library spans 10 years and has lived through manual syncing and mobile me’s notoriously bad photo stream functions
As a result, I have MILLIONs of duplicates- far too many to go through and delete one-by-one.
I wish Gemini had some sort of ‘archive and eliminate’ exact duplicates function that would match based on file name, size and visual similar and preserve only the best quality version.Show lessLevi the spunk

Incredible app!!! Been procrastinating deleting thousands of pics for 3 years. Buts it’s been too hard before. Literally just deleted 6000 photos in an hour. And so easily done, I don’t feel like I’ve deleted anything by accident. It sorts all your screenshots into one folder and you can delete them all at once. I had 900.

This is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. I have TONS of photos and this has helped significantly to clean them up. However, it has not been able to delete anything for about a month. When I press “delete photos” after having gone through the ones I don’t want, it simply doesn’t. Sometimes it does try to delete the photos, but each time an error pops up saying something to the effect of “Sorry, we couldn’t delete photos at this time.” Now my iCloud storage is full because I haven’t deleted photos in a while and thought that the issue might blow over. With over 12,000 photos I’ve been dreading going through them. Gemini gives multiple options to delete photos and declutter from tinder like swipe delete or keep to delete grouped photos. Gemini gets the job done in an efficient effective way.
You can access a portion for free but for best results purchase a package to unlock Gemini features. I am not receiving anything from this review it is simply my honest opinion.Show lessGJGArdnwr

So the app works fine but they charge you for the app, then when you open it they charge you a subscription to use it ! This then can’t be used by family sharing ie the app can’t be used by family members only on your device so was super pricy for me and my wife to get rid of a few pics, and I don’t need the app on my phone all the time just like once a year clear out so will have to do it all over agin in a year or so - crazy.
Also annoyed that the subscription is hard to cancel and doesn’t show up in the Apple subscriptions.... so the app works but the cost + the subscription is a massive downer for me ...Show lessJoshBRex

I had trouble getting the App to work. I had to delete the app and the reinstall before it would run without crashing.
Photos that get selected as blurred never go away. You inspect them and they just sit there. You should be able to swipe them into an I don’t want to review them for blurred images again like you can for photos that end up in the other category.
It needs to have an exact duplicate search not just a similar search. Every one takes multiple shots and the app requires you to review them all. I had a backup app that created 2 copies of thousand of pictures. My 30k photos are a huge nightmare to clean up.Show lessThelmerfud

Brilliant app very helpful
Just found one thing which is the only thing i found that may be a little glitch all else is amazing. Perhaps the Gemini team will fix this. When you go on ‘other’ images to remove with simple swipe down or up to save. If you empty trash can half way through the process of getting rid of some images it will not show the rest of the other images in the folder that you would like to keep or delete. I tried refreshing and it shows over a 1000 photos but won’t let me see them. Thought to give this as a feedback to fix the glitch.Show lessSmujzee
