I want to love this
The app itself is pretty glitchy but it's the customer service that really blows. I have used this multiple times with no issue, but the most recent time I had an issue with the sitter and THS is unwilling to reciting the situation. She left before the sit was over forcing me to take time out of my vacation to arrange (and pay) for somebody else to fill in. When I got back I found 5 dog poops throughout the house that hadn't been found/cleaned up accompanied by warped floorboards where pee had been. If it wasn't for the marijuana on the bathroom counter and open window (on a 28 degree day) I would have thought she had never shown up at all. The concept is great and I want yo love it, but given the lack of accountability, I will not be renewing my subscription.Show less--:()6)&8:;!)::
Issue with sit
I had a Petsitter that was to sit for a summer and they took drugs and then let all my pets loose. And damaged my home - not horrible damage but enough. It cost me over 3000. I informed trusted house sitter and they want me to put damages on my homeowners insurance which increases my rates before they consider any reimbursement. And they have never reached out to apologize or offer anything. The word trusted is in the name. But they are not doing anything more that an email check in some cases. I also had costs to cover sitting fees. Thousands. Nothing. They should have covered their fees. Or given me a few years free. Seriously not good business practice.Show lessJutzs
Not great
The search function, a very basic necessity for a site like this, will delivers unreliable (i.e. wrong), results. Differences between information available on the app and information available on the website make it necessary to use both, simultaneously, to evaluate house sits. It almost seems like they’re imploding - service is getting worse and not improving.Show lessRaKo$
Gone down the tubes
TH used to be better but has since gone down the tubes. Since they got rid of the “flexible dates” option it’s extremely hard to find a match. In the past I could post our listing keeping dates a little flex and would get an abundance of interested sitters and now next to nothing since I have to select exact dates. Not sure why they got rid of this option but TH is almost useless and I’m about ready to dump it.Show lesseffandango
Superb care of our mini-farm, Miami, FL
Kristin cared for our home and our animals over two weeks ending yesterday, December 27, 2022. She did an amazing job showing very sensitive care for our animals two minihorses and nine chicken hens including a beautiful vegetable garden as well. She responded quickly to our inquiries and when applicable, sent a photo as well for further explanation. She evidently displayed great skills and great empathy for animals, and we wouldn’t hesitate to have back in a heartbeat. She is very highly recommended and if I could rate her six stars I would. Very few homeowners know how to use the service properly. Dates on listings are often inaccurate. Sitting in your local area? Everyone thinks that’s odd. Sitting somewhere far away? Everyone thinks that’s odd. You’ll have the same agonizing conversations over and over. Most homeowners don’t go too far with the responsibilities but some are full time jobs which defeats the purpose of the service. The perfect solution
I can’t say enough about how well Trusted Housesitters has served us. My husband and I have begun to travel again after taking care of my late mother, enduring his cancer treatments and Covid. We are making up for lost time, and this site has made it possible. We don’t worry about our beloved cat while we are away, and it simplifies travel to have someone taking care of the house as well.Show lessStokergirl
Inbox access blocked after membership cancellation
So for the past few months this app was pretty good. It allowed me to travel with my dog to some lovely locations and meet other really cool dogs and family. But recently I decided I’d go back to school and let my membership run out. Unfortunately I already had a sit coming up before I came to this decision and now I’m having issues with my student visa. So when I tried to log in to contact my next host to inform her I’d have to cancel, I realized I had no access AT ALL to my inbox. Including sits that I had set up before cancelling. Not only is that a huge “forget you” to me but also to the host that is expecting to hear from me. Now I’m having to deal with their customer service that closed out on me as soon as I switched to another window on my phone to check the dates and my hosts name (things they had asked for). I don’t understand how they can take away access to sits and messages that you’ve literally already paid for!?!Show lessFranca2021

Please be advised that you may cancel your account at anytime, but you will not be able to access any information on your account except you renew your membership. Therefore, you may wish to contact the pet parent directly and continue to arrange the sit privately, we do not make any recommendations either way. However, I need to make you aware this will be classed as a private arrangement outside of TrustedHousesitters, and you will not be covered by our insurance. Christy has come to sit for our four kitties a few times now and all the way to Arizona from Wisconsin. She is reliable and extremely organized and loving to all of them. We received some great pictures she took while we were away (better than we could take). Paid for itself and then some
Signed up due to our normal neighborhood house sitter not being available for our spontaneous trip less than two weeks out.
Hasty listing and photos yielded a sitter in ~18 hours and she was phenomenal.
