Reviews of Poplin for Laundry Pros

  • Honest anfd Flexible Company

I have been a stay at home mom for years, and when looking to get back in to working, my top priority was flexibility and honesty in a company. I found both with Poplin. The app makes the whole process so easy and I have actually found doing laundry enjoyable! The ability to essentially work from home while my kids are still young has been amazing. I really enjoy the ability to create a positive experience for my customers. Simple things like using colored ribbon and holiday themed stickers on the bags or a thank you note, makes it fun for me, and a small way to brighten their day.
The main thing about Poplin as a company is its values, and I love their focus on kindness. I also love the online support team. I have had to reach out to support in multiple occasions i.e bad wether hindering delivery, my washer breaking down, getting sick- everytime they helped me through the problem and were amazing.
  • Awful experience

I had five orders and I was doing three at the same time and I mixed up their clothes and all three customers gave me bad ratings, but I was deter Turman to get it fixed and I paid extra 150 out of my pocket. didn’t even get paid for the service with the three people of the issue and the three customers are still claiming that they didn’t get their clothes because I don’t have no clothes. I have no reason to steal peoples clothes because they don’t fit me and not even my style, so these customers are trying to get things for free, they took out $250 from the money that I worked so hard for still holding onto my money and not trying to pay me. These people do not resolve problems in a timely matter. I’ve been waiting for my money for the last almost 2 weeks and they still telling me the problem is not resolved when I got an email saying that the problem was resolved that I was gonna get my money soon and no money yet these people are not for the employees are only for the customers and that’s sad because we’re the ones who doing the chump change work when other laundromats and laundry services are charging from two dollars to almost 3 dollars a pound for clothes to be washing fold and not getting paid for gas we’re paying gas on our pocket so we’re getting paid under minimum wage
  • Low pay but flexible schedule

I signed up to be a laundry pro for poplin after seeing an ad on indeed advertising $15-$20 per hour to do laundry at home. I already have a full time job but could use extra money. I didn’t want the commitment of working every night or weekend so I figured poplin would be a good fit. Poplin does allow you to accept or decline orders whenever it is convenient for you. For a standard order placed before 3pm, you must pick it up by 8pm that day and return it by 8pm the next day. Customers are charged $1 per pound of laundry and laundry pros are paid 75 cents per pound of laundry. Laundry pros pick up and deliver laundry in their own vehicles and wash laundry at their own houses while providing their own laundry detergent and bags. Laundry pros are required to return laundry in clear plastic bags. The pay should definitely be higher for the work we do. We rely heavily on tips. After including time spent driving to pick up the order, driving the order back to your house, washing it, drying it, folding it, bagging it, weighing it, driving it back, then back home, I don’t think I’ve ever averaged $15-$20 per hour. You can eventually build up a good client base as you “rank up” but it has been a pretty slow process in my area.

The app itself is sometimes glitchy and causes you to not be able to accept orders that you received a notification for.
