Only Records Data Sometimes
Every few cleaning cycles don’t get recorded, so the data is skewed. I chatted with a rep the first time it happened & they had me uninstall & reinstall the app & assured me this would resolve the problem even when I expressed concerns. Fewer & fewer washes are being tracked on the app now & I'm not going through hassle of uninstalling, reinstalling, & setting up my unit every couple of weeks. They should just fix the app so it works properly, given the amount of money these things cost….

Happy kitties - Happy Hooman
We’ve had this for over a month, 4 cats. Would like to see the ability to reset the diary. We have a couple of cats that jump in and out so it triggers a visit- maybe a time frame like 5 mins. before it counts as a visit.
This has definitely helped with litter box behaviour issues and saving time. Spouse teased me for about a week, not anymore. We should have made this investment along time ago.
Also, it may be helpful for those with multi cats to identify which cat is frequent user, could be a health indicator.

Works great
I’ve had my CatGenie for over a year now and everything is great. The app works as intended and haven’t had any issues.
Great so far
So far I’m pretty happy with the app. It is responsive for what it needs to do. The UX is not perfect but there are some functionality that I know appreciate - I have been a Catgenie owner pre-AI for some time.
Last Release Caused Issues
I love the CatGenie but the app/software leaves a lot to be desired. Since the last release every notification has a dozen duplicates that all hit my phone at the same time. It’s so awful I had to shut off notifications. On top of that - since the last software update was pushed to the CatGenie it perpetually states that the light guide needs to be cleaned no matter what action you take (pull it apart for a thorough cleaning, extra cycles, replacing the light guide etc.). It also doesn’t prevent it from running which indicates a programming issue. Please do better CatGenie!

They make rules up as they go
I’ve had every generation of this box. Been a long time user of this product for 13 years or so as I’m a cat breeder. They have always been great with customer service. I took my 120 out to re do my floor. I put it back in and forgot the settings. Called and got assistance to do so. I wanted to run the drain setting and that’s what she did with me. 3 days later I called to do the drain cycle again because I got my new (ai unit) second box for the house and wanted to move the old one and with snow here I didn’t want to dump. The tech said I’d have to mail my brain back for a inspection before getting any more help due to it sitting for a long period of time. I stated I don’t have any issues just need the instructions that I got a few days prior. She said because it sat for a while that they needed to check it for a small fee of $35. Keep in mind I have to pack and deliver this and be without the box again. Needless to say, nowhere in the manual does it state that you can’t have it sit. They are pushing more dependencies in order to get help now. I regret my last purchase and now as a breeder who often recommends this product……I’ll no longer be their customer and sales person. I’ll be looking into the litter robot (a better product that doesn’t make you dependent on spending money with them). Keep in mind, I haven’t “hacked” my box. I do annual cleanings. I don’t use their litter but I do use the wash carts. I also googled the info they refused to give me because they want me to pay. No more for me. I’m making the switch. 👋🏼✌🏼Shena

Will they ever fix it?
It’s been over six months and they still have not fixed scheduling. I can’t remove the last scheduled activation. I’m using cat activation mode so I don’t need to schedule and waste the cleaning fluid. This is app developer 101 level stuff.
Has stupid limitations and settings
I would love to say that this is a simple app and I can setup my CatGenie and forget about but no….. because they have a max time of 10 hours for “do not disturb” for cat activation. IT IS THE STUPIDEST THING! I think I would know how to run my house hold. I have a little one and need more than 10 hours at night because of how loud a cycle is and where my unit is located. So now, each and every single night, I have to change it over to manual so that it doesn’t activate at 530 in the morning. Fix this! Fix this now!!!

Update
All is working fine with the app that I recently reported that the average times were incorrect. I discovered that the start date Is determined automatically so there were a number of days where the device was not in use. As a result I think the app works fine.
