  • Helpful tool for leaders!

This app has saved me so much time and has helped me to manage my sales in the midst of a pandemic. I am able to track my scouts progress and accept payments virtually without any cost to my unit.
  • Keeps getting better

Trails End has done a tremendous thing developing an app and they keep making it better. Having an app has improved the popcorn fundraiser and made it easier for kids complete sales and now that there is live, real-time data, it is easier for the leaders to manage.

This year TE not only revamped the app, when COVID hit they quickly scrambled to add a whole new functionality to the app called Online Direct. This has allowed our Scouts to still fundraise and not have to handle product, so everyone is safer.

On top of that, TE has built in the ability to accept credit card payments and they are paying ALL of the fees. The app can also pair with a Bluetooth reader to make things even simpler. People can even use their Apple Pay or Google Pay etc.

There have been some bugs each year, but it keeps getting better. In this new version, TE has quickly addressed issues and released updates, what seems like every week over the last 2 months.

I’m thankful for this tool that helps us raise funds more easily. Thanks Trails End and keep up the great work.
  • Handy for one scout families only

When handling only one scout, the app is very handy, essential really. Having two scouts with saved passwords worked ok for a bit, but then it started having session establishment fault messages when switching scouts. As a family with two scouts, this is exceedingly cumbersome when on a shared wagon or storefront when you want properly keep the scouts’ sales accurate. As a kernel with motivated sons, i don’t want to get into adjustments. They want to know their sales are straight up.

On the plus side, order entry is rapid and straightforward for cash or credit (especially with a square). The real-time updates are awesome.

Other technical issues are that the app can interfere with phone calls (at least my iPhone 6plus with current iOS). Text notifications can be squelched, too. Perhaps that is a function of the link back to the back-end servers?
  • Good Start...Looking Forward to Updates

I like the overall organization of this app. It’s easy to see what’s going on with wagon sales, storefront sales, and online sales.

Having spoken to the company, I do know the updates will be released soon to fix some problems that exist right now. There is no ability to edit customer information once saved. It is difficult to toggle ”delivered/undelivered” status for a customer. I know they aren’t looking to allow a paid/unpaid feature, but I highly recommend it. I have to have my paper order sheet with me to write down information for those who have not paid otherwise I would never know who didn’t pay and be able to keep track of that on the app.

I do look forward to being able to upload and download data files that have customer contact information so I can keep better track of it, especially for delivery where I want things grouped by street addresses. Having three kids with three different accounts, I will need to merge all the customer information into one Excel file at time of delivery.

I believe the customer service is very good and legitimate complaints will be noted and improved on updates.
  • Revolutionary App

This app has completely revolutionized the way we now track our popcorn sale. We went from what now feels like a Stone Age paper tracking approach to this simple, user friendly app that does everything we ever did on paper, and then some, with way less work on our volunteers.

The ability to track inventory held by the unit or the scout, the ability to have families sign up for storefront shifts (once their popcorn kernel or unit leader has entered those shifts and made them available, of course), having multiple options of how to split storefront proceeds amongst scouts depending on what works best for each unit, the goal setting and progress bar, being able to share to many social media outlets directly from the app, and the real ease of not only storefront sales but wagon sales alike. Plus free credit card processing. This app is incredible!

We were apprehensive at first but have absolute faith after just about a few days of using it. We have ditched the old paper system and I strongly recommend this app to you. It’s a true game changer once you set aside your old ways and allow this app to save you tons of time and make your life easier. I’m a Scout Leader, I am Trustworthy, you can take my word in this. I will not let you down.
  • Great App

This in my 3rd year as popcorn Kernel for our Pack. The ability to track sales and inventory in real time for both storefront and wagon sales is awesome and saves me so much time! Using the app has eliminated the need for me to spend hours creating and maintaining spreadsheets to track and organize our sale. And being able to eliminate the credit card processing fees we had to pay for in the past means more money for our Pack’s Scouting adventures.
As a parent of 2 Cub Scouts I love that the app keeps track of all their sales and lets me know exactly what I owe from wagon sales. It’s great that I can toggle between their accounts whenever I need. And I love that I don’t have to worry about any paper order forms being misplaced.
The only issues we’ve had have been due to parent error as they learn to use the app. For example, recording a sale under a sibling’s account by mistake, logging into the wrong storefront shift, making duplicate accounts by mistake and recording sales for both, or forgetting to record a sale. Customer service has been amazing in assisting with solutions to correct these errors when they have occurred.
In my opinion, the app is a must for any units selling Trail’s End popcorn!
