Unable to detect actual location, lock the bile in the middle of ride

overcharged bank account
Hired a few times and the scooters themselves and the application are great, but my total hire charges for past 2 days totalled $52 yet my bank account has been charged a total of $89 in transactions. Not sure if it’s related to when I did a group hire of two scooters and the second scooter locked in the slow zone and refused to unlock when pushing it back to central area. brake was locked on and had
to push 1-2KMs with great difficulty to end the hire timer. was then able to get second person to install the app and we hired each scooter individually and charged individually then they worked flawlessly for the next hour.
If I can just get my excess charges refunded I would be 5 stars happy with the whole service.
Submitted two help requests inside the app itself, first one when the scooter refused to unlock after locking and the second one after seeing excess charges to my bank account

Hi OppLocker, thanks for your rating. You (and your group ride buddies) may notice a fee being charged to your card after linking it to the app even when no ride was taken. This is only a temporary hold used to verify your card, and it is commonly known as a pre-authorization fee. It will adjust to the amount captured after completing a ride

So easy to sign up…quick set up, simple use of getting the scooter going and the Beam App. Super stable and the smoothest ride out of the 4 different companies.
Word of warning for a person whose never used an electric scooter of any type before though - these are super quick & super responsive, great if you’re in a hurry - would’ve scared me if it was my first use of electric.

Edit: the bikes need a lot more maintenance to keep them in tip top shape for riders to use. A lot of times I have found issues with the bikes such as: the handlebar is loose, one of the pedals is missing, it’s covered in cobwebs, the brakes are not working, or the tyre is flat, et cetera. This means having to walk for considerable distances to locate another bike that has enough charge to get you from A to B. The reason for wanting to use an electric bike share for me personally was to avoid the issue of maintenance or the likelihood of theft. Anyway, this is something to consider if you’re wanting to swap your car/ public transport for bike share. Happy riding!

Better than the rest
Universal pass is my fav add on to this app. Can always find one charged with more than 50%. Use it at least twice a week during this lockdown. When going up hill at full speed for a person of my weight is slow but a little kick push for exercise never hurts haha
