Above and beyond customer service
Unfortunately had a poor experience with my first time using the app had a host lie about location and amenities not going into details I was forced to stay in parking lot nearby. Spoke with the representative from hipcamp and was informed that it was up to host to return the money that was very frustrating due to the fraud.. the manager Drew K. Reached out to me and after discussion he spoke with the host and saw why I was so frustrated this was definitely deemed a refund he informed me that they would credit my account which was done. And I had another trip that weekend and was a pleasant experience

Great product, app needs some tweaks
I love the premise. A serious wish list item for the app is a link back to a hosts listing / property within the messages section. When looking for a prospect destination and messaging 4-5 people at once it’s easy to lose track of who’s property belongs to who in the replies as messages aren’t connected to their profiles.Show lessOshawapilot2

Great app for finding amazing experiences
I love hipcamp and it’s ability to find beautiful stays everywhere you go. All the hosts are welcoming and amenities clearly listed so you know what to expect. The app allows you to filter based on what kind of trip you’re taking and what you’d like to have at the spot you're staying at. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves to go outdoors. Something that I believe would be nice to have is the ability to go back to the listing from the current trip view. This is currently not possible on this version but would be amazing if included. Sometimes I want to view the pictures of the stay again but cannot go back unless I search for it manually.Show lessOatovar92
Lacking
I just downloaded the app and it seems that it’s better to use the web browser on your phone or on a computer. I can’t view check in and check out times on the app. If you need help, you have to complete a support request. I think there should be a quicker way to get support via the app. The FAQs are available on the website, not the app. If you try to organize your saved sites and make a list, there’s no way to delete the list if you no longer want it. There should be a response rate for host to show that they are actually responding to potential customers. I’ll keep the app so that I can browse camp sites but for anything else, I’ll use a web browser.Show lessShan hunter

We used this app for the 1st time yesterday. Our hosts were very nice & the location was unique. Hipcamp says that they suggest keeping all communication in the app in case there are connectivity issues. We knew that we had received some specific instructions about arrival & I thought I was loosing my mind because I couldn’t find them. I looked in my Hipcamp messages & my texts, couldn’t find it. I searched my emails & found the instructions. It was only 1 line but it would be ENORMOUSLY helpful if everything could be in 1 place in the app no matter what additional forms of communication are used. We’re using it for a different stay tonight & looking forward to it!Show less3manydogs
Maggie’s magical musical farm
What an amazing getaway for my husband and I! This property makes you feel like you’re camping out but with the comfort of the home amenities! There is so much we enjoyed from waking through the quaint vegetable garden, to playing chess by their epic cypress stage, and listening to the rain hit the top roof as we sat under the open commons area! We love the fact that there is a community fire pit too and we cannot wait to go back and visit the welcoming couple that owns the property! Hip camp is fantastic
We love the concept of hip camp and have used it quite a lot in the last few months, especially around public holidays when the whole world and his dog book out every single campsite..It works perfectly for us and we’ve stayed in some amazing places.
The only let down is the app..please invest more in it as it really will make your product!!Also would be good if messages were available offline because I’ve failed to take a screenshot of directions many times then have no signal at the destination! Oh and if there could just be a google map link rather than written addresses, it would be much more practical and logical. Thank you hipcamp, keep it up!Show lessCam87appstore
Great concept but the app isn’t so great
We had only just started using you camp when it changed to hip camp, I agree with others that the you camp site was much easier to use. New hip camp app lacks some key features like being able to check/adjust your profile and despite having all notifications turned on I never know when hosts have sent messages/replied to enquires.
Search function seems easy enough on the app but filters often don’t match listings correctly making some searches a waste of time.
We will continue to use Hipcamp because we love the idea and have found some great properties but hoping the app improves with timeShow lessseblake13
Just In Time
Having a goal in 2019 of camping in each state park in Virginia soon came to a screeching halt during the 2020 Pandemic. Unable to find vacancies at parks, we turned to find other sources and happened upon Hipcamp. We have been forever changed and spoiled. Everything we need for finding a place to camp or glamp is In this app. It’s user friendly and has tons of information and pictures of different sites. We now tell everyone to try Hipcamp.
