Would have been five stars but
My home consumed more than double the neighborhood average kWh. This made solar untenable and I tried everything I could think of to reduce usage to no avail. The Vue 3 answered every question within 24 hours of installation.
AC had been installed incorrectly, triggering the AC every time the fresh air fan turned on even when the furnace kicked on over winter! This translated to 15 minutes every hour of the AC running all day every day.
The following weekend it showed me the AC started short cycling for about 24 hours which led to finding a broken damper stuck in normally closed causing the coils to freeze.
I could never have recognized these problems without the Vue’s data. Saved me more than $1000 by allowing me to diy the damper replacement and remove the control wire for the fresh air intake without needing a technician. Five stars!
Fast forward a month and the app updated to not allow continuous scrolling of the data; it now shows data in segments per screen instead of being able see contiguous timeframes. I can see a specific hour, but not say the last 15 minutes of one hour and the first 45 minutes of the next. This makes identifying usage very difficult having to flip back and forth between screens. I wouldn’t have been so easily able to identify either issue above with this interface.
Lots of great features and easy to use but it’s far less useful without continuous scrolling.

Great product
I’ve had the view 2 installed for 6 mths now. Installation was seamless and the instructions were spot on. Data is quite accurate, daily consumption matches bill perfectly. I’ve set a couple of alerts on our well pump for example. It notifies us if it’s been running too long and also I can use it to monitor weather or the well is pumping off.
I’ve only got 8 circuits being monitored but the info is awesome. I’m considering extending the capabilities.

Showed me what is using most electricity
The easy to understand app showed that biggest user of kwh annually was not our two big outside AC units (in hot and humid south Louisiana) but the two pool pumps that run every day of the year So we set the pumps to run in the am when the solar panels produce the most kWhe Amour of kWh We were also surprised at low much keep is used by computers, printers and three UPS units in our library. And the amount of kWh our electric dryer uses - so we run it in the am also

Great insight into what you are using
I do enjoy this app, the only downside is when I’m on my iPad and look at the day setting I can’t see remaining usage. Even though I try swiping up it won’t see the last line on the cart.
I love my Emporia Energy Monitor!
We just installed our Emporia Energy Monitor last week, and I’ve already learned more about our electricity use than ever before. Now I can tell at a glance which of our appliances is using the most energy at any given time, and use them more efficiently. This can help manage our electricity consumption during peak hours and lower energy bills for our all-electric home. It’s like giving X-Ray vision to a blind man!

Immediately paid for itself
Have a cottage an hour out of town and kept getting ridiculously high power bills when everything was off. Tried to figure it out by trial and error (flipping breakers and hoping the bill went down) but as soon as I installed the sensors and app, I was immediately able to see where, and more importantly when, power was being used. Turned out a faulty thermostat was intermittently kicking in a baseboard heater even when dialed down to zero. Took me forever to try and create the conditions to relocate it and might never have realized without the data. Also found a number of parasitic draws coming from outside plugs that were full of mud (wasps got inside the spring cover). Another time I left the heat pump on and noticed right away that I was getting a higher than normal draw. It might have been weeks before I went back up to check on the place but by getting an alert on my phone, I was able to plan a trip the next weekend to shut it off. Planning on getting another full set of sensors for my home now that I see how much can be saved. Also realized that I was probably stressing out way too much about leaving lights on, and maybe not enough about taking long showers!

Really nice application
I like this interface and application, however there us a problem with the jacks connecting the current transformers to the interface. They keep pulling out as they are not tight enough.
I whish there would be a fix for that as once in a while, I have to push on each of them to make sure they read correctly.

Great monitors and control
I picked up a couple of small cryptocurrency miners. Being able to track how much energy they are using and monitor if they are currently drawing the expected power (and therefore mining appropriately) is incredibly useful. I run my rig off of solar/batteries as well, so if I find that my batteries are running dry and I’m about to start pulling from the expensive utility grid I can switch off my least efficient minors individually in order to mitigate financial loss.
The app is super user-friendly and works great. I just purchased four more smart switches and a monitor for my main panel to watch over my ac/aggregate mining panel/whole site aggregate/solar abd I can’t wait to get it installed!
