Broken app and system needs an entire tech department to use properly

I bought these cameras a few years ago from Costco. And thank God, I have not needed to use the footage until yesterday. First of all on my phone I can record record the incident, but the app is broken and will not let me share the footage I recorded. And once it’s recorded, and you go to play it back, you cannot zoom in or it pauses the entire video.
So I went to the hard drive on my TV and tried to figure out how to save the specific date so it doesn’t get recorded over. Absolutely impossible to figure out without a tech department. I still cannot figure it out. These are supposed to be 4K cameras. And the video footage I have is so grainy you can barely tell if it’s a woman or a man. I cannot tell the make or model of vehicle let alone the license plate. So how do these cameras help me now that I actually need the footage. Better to go to Best Buy and buy some more user friendly.

I have just purchased my 2nd set of cameras for our new house. My first one was 8 cameras. This one is 16 cameras.
I install cameras for business and home I used a different brand . I have now switched to Deffender cameras. They have better picture quality especially when you zoom in to capture a face or license plate . They are easy to use and the recording play back is clean as the live video .
The customer service is outstanding. You actually speak to a person that understands the system they sell . This by far the best for the money. You’ll love the app for your phone you’ll instantly pictures and video of what’s going on at home. This system gives you peace of mind when your not home.

Latest update

The last update on 9/2/23 is a pain. Keeps failing, a half inch of the screen is a yellow bar, and I don’t know what the new part with the little man icon is all about. Go back to the way it was.

It has been six months from the last app update. Whoever worked on that update should be fired. This was a great app before September. Now it constantly crashes. It crashes on my iPad, my iPhone, my wife’s iPad and iPhone constantly. You have to log in multiple times. I have had to log in as many as thirteen times before it is stable. That never happened before the update. This is my second system, I had the 1080 system and updated to the 4K system I now have and was considering upgrading to the NVR system, but there is no way I would do that the way this app works. If I do change systems to a newer system it would no longer be Defender.

App crashes

Since the last update this app has begun crashing if I try to open any camera or view without waiting 15-30 seconds. Occasionally it will crash on its own or if I change camera views too quickly. iPhone 12 on latest release.

No customer service whatsoever

I contacted this company several times to get a very simple issue resolved. It took over two weeks for them to respond, then they gave me an incorrect answer. When I contacted them again, maybe a third or fourth time they never responded. I would never purchase another product from this company.

Works great second time

Every time we log on the first time it does image recognition and then closes have to open a second time then it works great. It does this on all three of our devices. We are using a iPhone 13, iPhone 14, and iPhone 12
Also would be nice if went back to older version of viewer when you had the large version of camera on phone and when you swipe all the way left and get to last camera it would go back to first camera. Now when you swipe all the way left and gets to last camera it won’t go and you have to swipe right to get back to first camera. When trying to watch something that is on multiple cameras the old way was much easier.

Feel safer.

Best system going for quality and affordability.I would recommend Defender products over the other brands.

Very poorly written program

You can’t scan you have to go minute by minute,, I still haven’t figured out how to save off of my cell phone and I can’t install a program on my computer to be able to see my cameras on my computer had to do it all over again there’s no way I would buy a defender 4K again

Satisfacción level

I have three different types of cameras at three different locations and this one is the best quality in many aspects. The resolution is great, the alert sensitivity is easy and accurate to adjust and the respond moving from one camera to another on the app is fast no lag time. Great product!

Nice when it works.

Keep getting a message that memory is full and live has been paused. Yet I still see the live feed. The app should not be using any memory unless I’m saving a video or picture. Got worse after last update. Now with the latest update, they want us to have their third party verify and manage our devices. NOPE, not happening. Already paid for the system, not giving you our data to sell. The update wasn’t about bug fixes, just data collection. Ap now has a banner that won’t go away.
