Easy to connect, need more options

This app is an easy way to pair up with your trainer a control a few basics. I would like for this app to have more options to do a quick workout and see all performance metrics.

ERG Mode problem with latest update

Been using magnus for zwift and everything was fine until the latest update- erg mode disappeared! I can toggle it so it should be working but i have to consciously maintain my power with cadence and gear now vs having it done for me. Please address this zwiftly.

Ok trainer - support nonexistent

Trainer seems to be ok, although have had numerous challenges in ERG and Sim modes with the power fluctuating about 20-300% depending on the app (Saris app about 20%, zwift up to 300%). It’s not all the time so can get a workout in. It’s the “support” from saris that’s frustrating, once identified that there was an issue they just ghosted me. Was in pretty regular communication with them and the once identified that it’s accuracy isn’t the 3% they advertise all of a sudden I don’t hear anything from them.
I’m really only looking for a trainer to stay in shape during the off-season so power accuracy isn’t as important to me. But it is frustrating trying to do a workout and when your supposed to be hitting 280watts and the thing will only give you 80.

Am I in better shape than without it? Yes for sure.
Does it do what it’s advertised to do? Not in my experience.

Not accurate

This review is based off of use with Zwift & ERG mode during a workout. Basically the ERG mode can’t keep up. Between cadence and watts the trainer can’t keep up. It takes for ever to adjust and communicate with ZWIFT. Worse off sometimes ERG mode will just stop working for no reason. The only way to combat this is to pause workout, get off the bike, unplug the trainer and then re-pair all my devices..... to say that is not ideal is an under statement.... word to wise if you’re spending $1,000 for a top end model... buy the top mode from the best companies... Saris is not. Selling my trainer when Wahoo comes back in stock.

Hi, Can you confirm if ERG mode works correctly in the Saris Utility? Do the watts and cadence keep up with your changes? While we can't provide support for Zwift directly, if the Saris Utility isn't keeping up with your changes, we should be able to diagnose it. If you continue to have problems, shoot us an email at developer@saris.com and we can see what we can do.

Very limited functionality

The trainer works well, but the app is mostly useless. The wahoo app is much more useful. Hopefully there will be some new features added soon.

Love the trainer, dont like app

Like the trainer: stable, easy to swap cluster, glitch free so far (3 months of use every other day).
I dont like the app as it requires me to turn on my location which i like to minimize. Not necessary for a blue tooth link. No way around this and no help/contact option within app. Not happy.

Hi frsbruce, Location services is required in order to allow us to do a bluetooth scan. If you check settings, you can email your logs to developer@saris.com if you run into any issues.

Hi Dave, Is the green light on the trainer blinking when the app starts? Make sure no background app would be connecting to it (the light would turn blue or white). If you still have issues, send us an email at developer@saris.com and we can investigate.

Calibration

I would rate a 5 except I have to stop to calibrate even though I did that at end of last ride. Seems I spend a lot of time stopping to recalibrate.
